Chase Cash Plus Reward Visa Card - $50 Cash Back 0% intro APR - call 1-888-787-0329. Earn $50 Cash Back or gift certificate after first purchase. Earn 5% Cash Back on qualified grocery, gas, Drugstore puchases & 1% on all other purchases. No annual fee. Limited-time offer - apply by August 31, 2005.
(From ad seen in SmartSource insert St. Pete Times today 7/10/05 note, there's an F4W under the phone number - maybe an offer code, doesn't say)

Thanks for posting...you beat me to it! This looks like a clone of the Citi Dividend card. It looks like Chase finally gave in to the 5%/$300 cap model.

Looks like it's also covered here ...

Has anyone seen where it says how much you need to accrue before you can request a check? $25? $50?

In Spokane, WA's Spokesman Review this morning, it's a F4Y offer code.

I'm going to see this week if a current BankOne card can be converted to this card (sans the 0% intro offer), assuming this is an offering on the Bankone "side" of Chase (as opposed to the Chase side), as the thread linked by foomeister indicates.

The offer is good through Aug 31 (and hopefully the card will be around much longer)--which should let us convert Chase "side" cards eventually.

I called on it. There was some confussion at first, but then the rep came back and said she can't convert me to it until after 7/25, when the merger is complete.

Also, the offer code in my ad is F4V.

Clocks said: I called on it. There was some confussion at first, but then the rep came back and said she can't convert me to it until after 7/25, when the merger is complete. Did she confirm that it COULD be converted then? And was this a bankone card, or older Chase card?

It was for a Bankone card. She said she could convert it after the 25th, but I never 100% trust these reps.

I will wait two weeks and try again.

I saw this ad today as well with a F4V code. Has anyone received confirmation that this is indeed a flat tier card (5% from first dollar, unlike Blue Cash et al)? I'm going to give them a call tomorrow to verify it is untierd. The previous threads and the online app are a bit unclear or don't mention anything about tiers.

Here is a link to the online app for this card (from the previous thread).

the merger of the systems is happening this weekend. You should be able to do it after 2 weeks

You guys think this is a better visa card to keep than the schwab visa?

Doesn't look like you can get the $50 if you use the link...

collegekid said: You guys think this is a better visa card to keep than the schwab visa? why do you plan to keep just one? You can have both.

this one is "better" in that it gives you 5% on certain categories. schwab is "better" in that it has lower standard interest and cash advance rates, and lower foreign currency fees/

Of course, you could read the terms on both and make the comparisons yourself.

that would make too much sense

I just called Chase. I originally have BankOne card and was converted to Chase reward card shortly after the merger was announced. I called the CS and was told that the offer is only for new applicants. I wonder if anyone carrying the existing Chase Card with 1% reward has succeeded to get the 5% CashBack added to their existing card where the CashBack is only 1%.

yes you can get an additional card if Chase thinks youre still a good credit risk for more credit

My parents have the BankOne Cash Rewards Visa, which I presume now is the Chase Visa® Platinum Business Card with Free Cash Rewards after the merger.

If I sign them up for this deal, does anyone know if they can merge/consolidate that card into this one? The merging just means that credit line would be added onto this one? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question lol

this is a personal card, I dont think Chase lets you combine business and personal lines, but you could always call them and ask and let us know what they say!

It sounds like this card has different offer codes for different parts of the United States. I don't have a copy of SmartSource in front of me, does anyone have a promo code for New Jersey? Or maybe the code isn't even necessary?

Thanks for the reply DidYOU, but I believe both cards are personal cards. I don't have any Citicards yet, but I've read people combine the CLs and I definitely want to get in on all those $100 GC deals. Good point in calling and asking, but with CSRs, you'd get different answers to who the President of the US is!

Just called to apply, and asked specifically about the rewards. Sounds it is a flat reward card, but the rewards will be given in points (5 points per $1 on gas), and the CSR was not able to confirm that cash conversion will be based on 1c/1point. She told me to look up by myself at www.choosemyrewards.com.

I just called as well. The CSR had no idea about rewards, just wanted to take my application. He stated he did not know anything about the reward structure, nor the $50 initial purchase bonus. He also told me to go to the choosemyrewards website. Just when I thought I would finally stumble onto a concrete answer, I was shocked to see the website provided less information than the uninformed CSR.

On a side note, am I the only one that thinks that website "looks" like a phishing attempt? While I doubt it is, the logos and "cheesiness" of it look similar to phishing attempts. It certainly could use some more information, maybe a company(s) name, FAQ, etc.

I went to www.choosemyrewards.com, and all it is a login screen? Did you guys have to login first to see details?

The choosemyrewards.com website is very legit and very fast in shipping rewards. I have a bank one cc and use it all the time to redeem rewards. You can choose cash, restaurant gc's, and some other worthless items. example: 2500 points = $25 check or $25 gift card. hope this helps

Good news. I would assume this is a third party company offering this rewards service to multiple cards? Does the website vary the points based on card issuer or branding?

I wonder if they'll keep this card longer than the Profitcard that was discontinued less than a year after introduction. Too bad the Profitcard was/is a mastercard otherwise I would trade that one for this one.

do you have an annual cap on check or gift card redemption through choosemyrewards.com? if not, isn't this one better than Citi Divident?

I saw an ad for this card in Sunday's (July 10) coupon section. The annual cap was 30,000 points, which is $300. When I called to see if I could convert my Chase card free Free Cash Rewards (1%) to this Cash Plus rewards program (5%/1%), the CSR said she didn't know anything about it. She mentioned a business card that gives 3% back and that you don't have to have a business to get a business card. I declined and called back three hours later. The second CSR had the same answer.

You will have to call and apply with the offer code mentioned above in order to receive the $50 bonus.

Two questions:

(1) What does the "F4Y" code imply?
(2) Has anyone tried converting an existing Chase card (PerfectCard or another), and got the $50?

Bump. I'm curious about question #2 as well. Thx.

How many months 0% APR balance transfer?
Any bt FEEs?

ussrfw said: How many months 0% APR balance transfer?

The answers to both questions are available at the link posted by bp1169:

12 months at 0%
3% BT fee (but not less than $5.00 nor more than $75.00)

I have a question that i bet the answer is "no you can't do that". I want to pay off someone elses credit card for them by transferring their balance to my new card. They are not a family member. Is it possible to transfer someone elses balance to my own card?

Yes, you can get BT checks and pay off anyone's debt you like. Whether paying off someone elses debt or not is a good idea is a different qustion(to which the answer is no).

Yeah, I know that people who are financially smart suggest not to pay off others debts. But, its a personal choice, whether it is good or bites me in the butt later. But in general, I agree with you. You should never pay off others debts.
