there should be a thread to SERIOUSLY discuss playing poker as a side gig.
i am not talking about a thread to discuss stupid online promotions, but a thread to discuss
1) what kind of poker should you play according to bankroll 2) which casino has the best badbeat highhand aces crack promotions 3) benefits of playing online versus at a casino 4) discussion on the REALITY of playing poker professionally
i think it would be a cool thread for people who play poker professionally. i know that when i go play poker, there are regulars there who makes good money doing it.
it is NOT gambling, as most people consider it. poker is alot about skills and strategies, i would even compare it to picking stocks for an advance player.
a thread about poker could be a strategic way for poker players to stay "financially" fit while endulging in this amazing sport/investment.
any thoughts? |

Maybe the title should be "Immigrant's Credit 101". The similar investment threads would be almost useless, since the new immigrants don't have available money and interest for investing, they usually have other priorities, the first one being to make ends meet. But eventually they could upgrade their credit use from a simple convenience to a means of buying a house etc.
I must add that I am one of these (too bad Diversity Visa Lottery has just died...), GC (green card, not gift card ) holder and currently a graduate student. I benefited a lot from a few forum threads, here and elsewhere.
I am also asking for other people interested to participate in the thread proposed here by me to contact me via PM.
Also asking your opinion about the proposed thread. TIA.
This would have been great for me when I came here (but then I didn't know about fatwallet ). I had a few tens of thousands just lying around earning almost no interest for quite some time. Not all immigrants (well, I am not one but will spend 7-8 years here studying) are from poor countries. Many do come from wealthy countries, some even wealthier than the US (Singapore in my case). |
