Hi guys,
What about a thread tracking CRA pulls for credit cards? Bank name, which agency, and date? Like:
Bank, Agency, Date AMEX, TU, 11/05/2005 MBNA, EXP, 11/01/2005
I know there used to be a site "www.whopulledmycredit.com" but that is out of date for years now it seems. |

There is a database on Yahoo called Creditpulls, run by a moderator from Creditboards.com. Great resource. |

I'd like to see a thread on well-paying careers and how to prepare for, train for, get, and succeed on the job. I know there's a popular starting salary thread here, but I want to know how you got your great jobs! I'm in a crummy low-paying job, which took me a loooooong time to get after graduating from college. I'm thinking about training for a new career or starting my own business. Please start this thread - I know it would be popular! |

I'd like to see strategies/resources for financing the start of your own business. Tips on whether to start a partnership, LLC, S-corp, etc. Tax strategies. Best way to find venture capatial and/or angels. |

What about a Medicare Part D (Rx Drug Coverage) thread? This is definitely going to impact people's wallets! I gather many of you guys are too young to care about this coverage, but some of us are responsible for choosing the best plan for our parent(s). There are many critically important details that I didn't learn until I asked some very specific questions. I would volunteer to start the thread except I don't really know what's involved in maintaining one properly.
Or maybe it belongs in a different forum? I wouldn't know, as this is the only forum I follow. |

I would like to volunteer on a thread about credit basics aimed for new immigrants (I mean LEGALLY present in USA, either with green card, work visa or even student visas). Maybe the title should be "Immigrant's Credit 101". The similar investment threads would be almost useless, since the new immigrants don't have available money and interest for investing, they usually have other priorities, the first one being to make ends meet. But eventually they could upgrade their credit use from a simple convenience to a means of buying a house etc.
I must add that I am one of these (too bad Diversity Visa Lottery has just died...), GC (green card, not gift card ) holder and currently a graduate student. I benefited a lot from a few forum threads, here and elsewhere.
I am also asking for other people interested to participate in the thread proposed here by me to contact me via PM.
Also asking your opinion about the proposed thread. TIA. |

Many posts on "The Daughter of The Mother of All Banking, Checking, Saving, and Money Market, Interest Rate Threads" get removed. I understand that the thread is mainly for rate updates but many of the banks on the list do not have there own discussion thread so it seems we post things other than rates there instead of starting new threads. Maybe a sticky thread that deals with general questions and problems about Checking, Saving, and Money Market accounts could be placed right under the Mother thread. Would think it would help keep the original thread more in order |

Would make sense to pin it under the daughter of the mother thread as a nice tie in. High rates are nice but there is much more to a Bank account than just rates |

As dYs noted, The Daughter of The Mother thread is only for rates. If you want to start a thread discussing an account, it will be linked to the OP. Otherwise The Daughter of The Mother thread is about all accounts all the time and will become very hard to read. I don't understand what is so hard about looking at a list of accounts and clicking on links within that list for more information. |

I would love to see a thread on the Annual Events that affect Wall-Street, such as: > Quarter End, Year End clean-up by Mutual Funds > Options expiration > Stock Options vesting > Stock grants vesting and grants sold to cover taxes > 401K restarts at Beginning of Year if maxed out early prior year
Don't know the impact of these events on stock prices but would love to learn more.

I wish we had a newbie section where we can refer people not much into finances. I have several guys that I work with that live paycheck to paycheck and have not given finance any thought.
Id like to see links to some are CC Cash Back threads what investments are no brainers, invest into your 401K to the match easiest way to start into the roth and such things as that what investments are good starting out to save a startup amount and such
basically a newbie type thread
the biggest complaint of the people I refer is the topics are broad and when they post uninformed question they get flamed |
