chtrich said:lahen said:Just got done applying for the card online. I got message like others about getting response within 30 days by mail. Within couple of minutes of finishing application, I get a call from their CSR with approval offer. He mentioned me having another MBNA card (with $39000 credit limit). He offered to move $30000 to my new card and leave $9000 on that old card. I was little reluctant to do that. But, in the end I agree to split the amount to $19500 even on each card. It took less than 2 minutes to do this.
Thanks OP.
And when you close this new card, just have them move the $19,500 back on to your original card. I've done the same thing many times and MBNA will do it for you no problem.
Thanks for the tip. |

Called in and got approved. I did the $150 GC deal and received the GC already. They did not mention the other Schwab CC.
Thanks OP. |

Has anyone used their price protection plan before? Do they take printouts from online vendors like Chase did? Or do they require store ads?
NM, found the answer in the other thread. Store ads only. Too bad. |

Do I have better chances of getting approved by calling or just waiting and seeing if they send or not? |

its got nothing to do with chances...either you are approved or you are not...calling them will only reduce the suspense and you wont have to keep waiting in your mailbox...IMHO, it makes more sense to just call and check the status!! |

Have any of you applied separately for a spouse? I want to do one for my mom, but I don't know if they check the household address... |

Actually how good is this card for self-use besides the GC?
Why many guys said that it's of no use after getting the GC? It seems to have the world point reward program equal to 1% Cash Back and a so-so BVG function. Anyone can tell me the differences between this card and MBNA world points please? I only know that without other MBNA card, I cann ot use billpay function with Schwab card.
I don't have any MBNA card, does it provide any better card other than world point/Cash Back card? I mean regular ones, not 10% promotional cards.
Thanks a lot. I was thinking if I should close the account after getting the GC. |

Non-use? I'm sure we all used our Schwab at least once, to qualify for the GC, didn't we? I did. But when I was asked about why I wanted a 4th SchwabVisa, I said I needed several short-credit CCs for online purchases. I did the same with my credit union, so that I have my full credit line CC and a short-credit CC for online use, just in case the security is breached and someone accesses the info. I think it's wise to limit the degree of damage that can be done. Next time I try for this $100GC, I'll explain to the CSRep that I'd like to whittle the line of credit on the other three Schwab CC's to allow me a 4th Schwab CC with a short-credit limit. I think that might get me in. We'll see. -Zer bedrocked said: anyone who has been asked about non-use of the first schwab, what have you said? |

The link is working but the application is "hanging" and then there is a message that they are unable to process at this time.
