In addition to checking out the health insurance rates/benefits offered by your school, also take a look at some of the professional societies. Many times groups such as IEEE, the local Chamber of Commerce, professional accountancy associations, etc. will offer group policies to their members. Some of these groups allow you to join (at a reduced rate) as a student, but still allow you to purchase the group health insurance policy available through them. |

The one I mentioned for J students covers all the requirements of the Department of Homeland Security, they sell it to J students and scholars at the University of Texas at Austin. The amount you pay depends on your age.

The likelihood of finding an outside health care that meets the IONS requirement sis slim - I would stick with your school. |

The catch is that it's NOT insurance... it's a discount program. Look right above their Call Today text on the left. IT'S NOT INSURANCE. |

At my University, it is only offered to J-1 visa holders. You may as well go to the international office of your University and ask them if you can buy it. Good luck.

When I began working as an independent contractor, I need health insurance. I was 25 YO, in very good health and generally only needed coverage in case of an emergency.
I went with Golden Rule health insurance. I beleive eHealthInsurance sells it. I was paying about $250 a quarter, so about $1000 a year.
Never actually used it. So, I can't speak for issues. |

You had to prove financial ability in order to obtain that F-1 visa, remember? So what happened? |

Have you tried India Network? This is amongst the cheapest I have found with low deductible.
Currently, I am looking for a basic health plan for my visiting parents. Anybody has recommendations for 60+? I am contemplating the community college route if its possible. |

hi, does anyone know how to get a health insurance in Boston, or MA? It seems it is not easy to get one here like other states... I started to have my home business 6 months ago, and now it is time for me to get one. Please advise! |
