Thanks for making the effort to do this reckner77, green for you.

It would make the thread more useful if, when you had the time, you turned into more of a full-blown FAQ, as a opposed to a list of links. The other FAQs linked in the search threads should provide good models.

What about a buying with PayPal faq? Here's a question: for a buyer, is it better to dispute a non-delivered item with PayPal or through your credit card company, or both? Any links on this topic?

Any links on this topic? It is always easier to dispute items through credit card companies. I believe PayPal limits buyer disputs to 3 times per year, but your credit card company will bendover backwards for you. When a credit card company performs a chargeback on your behalf, PayPal is in a defensive position and has little say in the eventual outcome of the situation. The seller has zero say and is only along for the ride. And credit card companies typicaly side with the buyers on the assumption that sellers are more able to absorb the cost of a loss.

Bump.

I tried disputing once through paypal, because item was not as described. Since I actually received the item, paypal denied the chargeback. Then, I called my credit card company, and successfully disputed the charge, and eventually got credited back.

The best was that right after my credit card company credited me, I got an automated survey from paypal, asking me why I chose to fight it though the credit card company rather than through them. How stupid!!

If I have more than one email address on my PayPal.com account, can I receive payments through any of them? Or can I receive payments to the primary email address only?

Any of the email addresses associated can be paid. The primary account is the one that payments are sent *from*, and the address where you'll get communications from PayPal (payment notifications, etc).

You don't need to post this question in multiple threads.

eBay sellers beware. Paypal does not follow standard banking practices. They can and do whatever they like with your money and you will have no recourse except to sue them. I keep most of my $ out of my paypal account and in my business checking account because of the many horror stories out there. I hate how in the event of a dispute they immediately take out the money from the seller's account until the dispute is complete. Merchant credit card accounts at least give you a week or two grace period to fill out the forms and fight the dispute. The paypal interest rate is good, but it's not worth the risk keeping a lot of money in Paypal. I wish google payments would hurry along.

I contacted PayPal for my MMF account # & ABA routing number: They replied, You MMF account number is your PayPal account number (xxx...). But received no info on ABA routing #. Does anyone know what the ABA routing # for PayPal MMF is? I would like to create links to my MMF account.

Thanks!

Could someone walk me through the procedure for doing a Paypal "push" to my BofA Checking Account? I've never done this before -or- point me to a FW link that already discusses this step-by-step?

I've only done Paypal a few times, and that, when I've bought books on eBay, so I'm a complete NÔÔB with anything other than paying for an auction. Thanks!

Tytie

Found it! . . . PAYPAL PUSH

On May 9, 2005
hammer45 kindly shared the following: PayPal turnaround (from PayPal to ING) is pretty quick...usually 3-4 days.

As mentioned in the previous post to add <BANK> to your PayPal account, simply select "Add Bank Account" from PayPal. Then enter the information obtained from <BANK>.

GETTING YOUR <BANK> INFORMATION:
1. Login to your <BANK> account.
2. Look at the details of your account (typically by clicking on the account itself, i.e. Orange Savings Account))
3. Click on "Direct Deposit Form for This Account"
4. On the form you'll see your ACH # and your Account #.

Put this information into the PayPal "Add Bank Account" screen. PayPal will then put two little deposits in your <BANK> account which you have to verify. Once verified, the bank account is permanently on your PayPal account and you can push money to your <BANK> account all day long.

Thanks Hammer.

Tytie
