I think I asked a while ago and they said unlimited. I have 10 external accounts and 4 USAA accounts in my drop down list.

Is there a limit on how much can be debited to your USAA debit card when getting gas (or anything else)? For the second time, the gas pump has stopped for me on exactly $49.00 (which is unfortunately only 2/3 full). When I've used my Washington Mutual debit card at the same pump, its allowed me to get more gas.

As far as I know, the usual non-PIN POS limit on the Debit Mastercard is $2,000 per day, although you can ask them to raise it. As far as for each purchase, there is no limit per purchase.

The bank or CU that I spoke with about opening a new account with funds from my USAA savings acct that has a check-writing capacity said that was same as a checking account to the new bank. I'm not officially linked, I think, but I did give the new bank/CU info on routing/acct numbers just for the purpose of establishing a new acct, funding a CD. I am debating doing the paperwork with USAA that will link this outside account. I'm not sure I want to open too many avenues into USAA or pathways by which money might be moved out of USAA. I like the security at USAA. I just put in an order to link my local CU with USAA, so I can more easily move cash from USAA into that acct.

The limit on checkwriting from the USAA savings acct is easy to work around, as I can slip money from one acct to another within USAA. I rarely write checks against the savings acct. -Zer tooshy said: I opened a SAVINGS account and received savings CHECKS! With regular routing and account numbers...nice. On the check, it says "Federal regulations allow only 3 checks per monthly statement cycle" and is boldly printed "USAA SAVINGS" at the top.

Yes, ever since getting those checks I'm wondering where and when should I use them? I think rarely or never!! I could use them for larger transactions and earn a small amount of interest until check is cleared. But with all the identity theft scares I don't want to give my acct and routing number to SAVINGS where I intend to keep the overflow from checking. I agree with you Zer....why create more avenues for withdrawal from USAA.

OP updated:

- to reflect new Performance Index rates (all other rates remained unchanged); and
- to add a statement under "Other Information" telling about USAA's upcoming change to a voice-driven telephone banking system.

Are these funds transfer from checking, savings or both? I noticed on the Funds Transfer Authorization form, no indication to which one, only member number was asked.

I waited a full 10 business days for the transfer to set up, but nothing so I called up and the CSR said she sees they were working on it. She manually did something and said give it 2-3 hours. That's the hard part....setting up each transfer.

All my accounts under my USAA member number are linked (I had to email them to add additional usaa checking accounts into my transfer list). You pick which USAA account you want to transfer from or to.

About USAA's Overdraft Protection, any one tried to link to a Debit card (instead of Credit card)? by doing that can we avoid the Cash-advance fee??

Thanks.

There is no cash advance fee even with USAA credit card.

This is absolutely correct, it's one of the most outstanding features I've ever had in a checking account anywhere. You do pay interest until you pay it off, but there's no advance fees.

Almost all POPULAR credit cards charge cash advance fee. So anyone has experience with linking a Debit card from other banks (like Presidential) for USAA's overdraft protection?
Thanks.

I Love USAA, from the start they offred me a 20K CL and 10 months later boosted to 30K. I never carry a large balance, maybe a few hundred, but charge several thousand a month. Their service is excellent, and when I had a dispute on something, they handled it quickly.

OP updated with new rates for USAA Savings and Performance First Index accounts.

Also updated OP to indicate that I will put changes in italics until the following Thursday (instead of Sunday), when I would have to change the ratess, anyway.

Does anyone know, is it possible for USAA to do an ACH pull from an ING savings account?

Yes. I did this several times with two USAA accounts with no problem. But someone reported that sometime it would not go through. YMMV? not sure. If you link USAA at ING, the possibility of success will be very high.

Is it possible to use the USAA Bill Pay from Quicken 2006 directly using direct connect. I would love to be able to do that.

Not sure, as I don't use quicken. You could call and ask. USAA would probally impliment it if one person asked, that customer friendly.

I do like their online billday. Almost same day postings, real sweet.

Thx, I'll call or email to add my savings account to the list.

Also I noticed today, savings rate went up to 2.02%...just got a glance not sure whether it is the basic savings rate or performa.
