I see on the HSBC website that there are several HSBC ATM's and branches in Japan. Can anybody tell me if they are in convenient locations? Thanks! |

is it better/faster to move money into HSBC by pulling from HSBC, or pushing from the other institution? The QS hasn't been updated in 2 years; the original post is now 4 years old. At 1.45%, I'll give them a little business. |

RagingBull said:hsbc has a new product called http://www.us.hsbc.com/1/2/3/business/checking/direct-checking Business direct. anyone ever tried it? It gives 5 free outgoing wire transfersI converted my business free checking account to a business direct checking account. I was able to do this over the phone and the process was pretty painless. It took a day to reflect the change in online banking, but I did not get charged for the wire transfer I made to my supplier in China 5 minutes after the phone call to convert. I believe the business direct checking account has been around since late 2008. Like HSBC's personal accounts, the biggest disadvantage may be the fact that you are unable to use branch services with the account. |

A few questions.. still with HSBC but I will have to admit coming from BoFA and not having to use envelopes to make a deposit is nice.. the branches here in CT don't offer that option however I noticed in NYC (not sure if all locations) the ATM's have a cash slot where you put the cash right into the machine.. However unlike BoFA it does not go right into your account. Also BoFA if I deposited a check of $100 or more the first $100 was available for me however with HSBC i'd have to wait until the next day. Do they have any plans to upgrade the ATM's? Check Chase just started check scanning as well. |

Question about the corporate checks that HSBC is now issuing: Since the money is withdrawn from your account immediately, if that corporate check to your payee is somehow lost, what happens to that money? Do you have to notify them that the check is lost so that they can put that money back in your account? |

Any idea what kind of exchange rate you get with HSBC for incoming international wire transfers? Not having any fees is very attractive, but not if they're going to charge an extra 5% on the exchange rate. |
