Citi currently has 2 offers on their web page (no special link required) for their Citi Premier Pass Elite cards. 1 for personal 1 for business.
15,000 pts after 1st purchase on each card.
No annual fee 1st year, for business card. $75 annual fee for personal card. 0% BT for 12 months, from day you do it. You have until 1/1/2007 to do the BT. This is especially useful as you can do the BT now, or much much later and get your 12 months.
Since the fee is waived on the business card, you don't have to worry about it.
You can avoid having to pay the fee on the personal card by getting your 15k bonus pts within 45 days, and converting the card to any non-annual fee Citi card has, and they will refund it to you. You will keep the 0% BT offer even when you convert.
Also, since the premier pass cards have annual fees, they are generally a lot easier to qualify for, and also get higher then usual starting CL.

But the offer sounds really attractive, if there are no additional fees attached to the BT. It might make me consolidate my citi cards, and jump back into the BT game again
Particularly now that citi offers automatic payment scheduling, the entire deal can be set up in a few minutes and left on auto-pilot until completion.
Thanks Storme. Nice find !
Addendum: No BT fees if performed as part of the offer (within 12 months of account opening; not sure about multiple BT's)
As mentioned in another thread concerning the premier cards, in case you actually intend to use it (and not only applying for the $150 gift card), in order to redeem flight points you have to use at least an equal amount of purchase points. So do not make plans on earning tens of thousands of points through flights if you do not intend to buy other goods of equal value with it...
PS: I am not sure about the higher CL you can get applying for the elite, I got only $2000 a few weeks ago... Also some people may be lucky to receive an mail offer for the premier (not elite) and with 15,000 points after the first purchase, which beats the hassles of applying for the elite, redeeming the points and changing back.
If it's all right, I'd like to run my understanding of this deal past you guys and make sure that I've got it right: 1. apply for above mentioned card through above listed link (thanks tons!) 2. Use card immediately 3. Cash in 15000 points for 150 dollar GC 4. Cancel card to get 75.00 membership fee returned (is htere any doubt as to whether this step will work?)
I do have a question, what is required to qualify for the Business version of this card?
On the application a Tax ID for the business is required. So, has to be a legal business. If business has no credit history, Citi will go by your credit history for a decision. They will check both credit reports regardless.
"15,000 bonus points after your first purchase is made within 60 days of account opening"
I'm interpreting that as the pts might not be there until 60 days. Has anyone done this particular card and how fast did you get the pts? I might be game to try $75 fee and all if I thought the pts would be there pretty quickly. Just got the Diamond Preferred Rewards card and that was pretty fast to get the pts.
Thanks.
