I'm in the accounting dept here in Cleveland, OH. I couldn't get anyone to fess up to charges from "estoreonline" for the past two months on our corporate AMEX. Now these posts have me worried! I'm currently on the phone with AMEX, the rep says she has personally contacted estoreonline herself and that they are legit. (I have my doubts). Will keep you updated to what I find out.

Me in the accounting department again. The rep was (of course) unable to contact estoreonline, so they've opened up a fraud investigation. Sounds like they should know who these people are already! If anything exciting happens I'll post again.

I also got charged on my AMEX. I called AMEX and they immediatley refunded the charge.
I also purchased an item from Page Computers previous to the phony charge from estoreonline.

Bad Page Computers!! BAD! BAD! BAD!!!!

Who's starting the class action lawsuit? LOL

alert mods

One would think AMEX would've caught on by now and not let these charges even go through. I guess as long as none of us are made to pay, it's their problem and they'll figure it out sooner or later. Still blows my mind that this woman told me she had actually spoken to this company and they were legit. Maybe someone should see if she's driving a new car.

shady company + obvious price mistake = one time use cc.

alert mods

I got charged for $15.99 from ESTOREONLINE ROCKLIN, CA on 8/28 on my AE Blue, I have been puzzled by this charge, and just found this post and realized it was a fraud charge, will call AE soon. Thanks for the info, guys.

alert mods

Add me to the list. 2 fraudulent charges. $15.99 and $26.99m -- thanks OP! (AMEX)

And I did place an order with Page Computers a while back.

alert mods

Unfortunately, in the business world, one time use cc's aren't an option.

Just checked with our IT dept, we did indeed order from Page Computers at one point.

alert mods

Have we come to agreement that it is due to Page Computers or are we still unsure about whether it was an AMEX leak?

alert mods

Sounds like a few people haven't ordered from Page Computers, yet more than one has. It's just a theory due to the common thread.

alert mods

I was hit with the estoreonline charges but I don't think I've ordered from Page Computers (I'm not 100% sure). As I said in one of my earlier posts, their login page could not find any email addresses that I use. And I didn't get in on that (HDD?) deal when they had their price mistake thing...

didYOUsearch said:walletLess said:Op, gave you green. I think it is good to have these posted here, in case someone did not check the CC statements carefully. Anyone who reads FWF and does not check their statements carefully deserves to be shot.

Agree this should be moved to Hot Deals or another forum where people like to spend freely and dont pay attention to their finances

Being a little harsh there, are we? "Deserve to be shot"? I thought that was only reserved for looters in New Orleans.

I'm pretty good with my finances, but this one got by me. It was mixed among some other online computer purchases I had made and it didn't raise any flagss.

Please don't shoot! I'm too young!

alert mods

I've PMd Mods and Footn200 to look into putting this on HD sticky since it's effecting quite a few of us. Hopefully that'll work and we can help the whole FW community from being slammed. AMEX really should be looking into this too...hopefully they are.

alert mods

The AMEX chick I talked to didn't seem to care at all about the fact that there are 14 other FWers that got hit by this. I also asked if they could ban this merchant from billing to my card, and she said they can't. How crazy is that? With technology the way it is, doing something like that should be easy. Argh.

It looks like someone is trying to steal from me.
I’ve had charges on my last two credit card bills from a company called “ESTOREONLINE”. The charge is listed as coming from, ROCKLIN CA for
DC30F79D BOOK STORES BOOK STORES

So, be careful people and pay attention to your credit card bills.

Does anyone know anything about this company?

Found this on a weblog. Looks like its been goin on for a little while. AMEX NEEDS to do something!

alert mods

I checked all my AMEX statements, and I’m clear of any of these “ESTOREONLINE” charges. Also, I did NOT buy anything from Page computer.

I stopped using AMEX after they dropped their single-use virtual card numbers, for exactly this reason. It's time to put those old AMEX Blue cards in mothballs and get the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards card. That one gives you the option to generate single-use card numbers as well as giving you rewards points and a price protection program.

alert mods

Wow, man. I'm glad I don't have an AMEX card. And I do think it would be good for this to be a sticky in HD because I only check Deal Discussion once or twice a week and would have missed this.

alert mods

I have AMEX blue, but no questionable charges. And I did not order from the computer store in question either.

alert mods

I haven't had any AMEX card in my life. They rejected me once when I was in collage and I haven't applied again despite the numerous invites i got from them. good decision!
