LIMIT YOUR JUNK MAIL ----------------------------
There was a line when the CSR was reading the T&C where "I authorize Chase to share information about me to [something, something], affiliates, [etc...]." That sounds like junk mail waiting to happen, so I looked up right away how to opt out. (I remember finally reading the T&C of my Macy's Visa after a year, and deciding to opt out, and junk mail decreased not too soon after that).
Chase/Bankone's
Privacy Policy FAQ (http://www.bankone.com/answers/BolLegal.aspx?ID=Questions) What is meant by the term "opt out"? The term "opt out" means your choice under our Privacy Policy to instruct us not to share certain information about you.
If I opt out of information sharing within the Chase and Bank One family as explained in the Privacy Policy, will all of your related banks and companies honor this request? Yes, all of the Chase and Bank One family of companies will honor your request. You cannot selectively request to be excluded on a company-by-company basis or product-by-product basis.
If I opt out of information sharing within the Chase and Bank One family, what information about me and my products and services with you will and will not be shared within your family of banks and companies? The Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA") is the primary law that covers information sharing within the Chase and Bank One family of companies. The FCRA permits our related companies to share certain types of information: identification information about you; information about your transactions with any of our related banks and companies; and information about the experiences of any member of our family of banks and companies may have with you. Other information that bears on your creditworthiness, personal characteristics, mode of living, or the like is covered under the FCRA. If you request to limit information sharing within the Chase and Bank One family according to the procedures set out in the Privacy Policy, we cannot share this "other" information about you from your applications or agreements, from credit reporting agencies, or from other sources. Ordinarily this other information is helpful to us in determining your interest in or eligibility for additional consumer credit or insurance products offered by our family of banks and companies.
We will, of course, honor your request to limit sharing non-experience information to determine your eligibility in these situations, but we will continue to share it in certain other situations, such as to service your accounts or to prevent fraud, consistent with the FCRA.
What choices do I have for opting out of information sharing? Please refer to our Privacy Policy for a detailed explanation of the choices available to you regarding information sharing and for instructions for how to modify your choices.
Q. Is information about me shared with service providers and financial companies outside your family of companies? A. Yes, as permitted by law. We may share information about you with outside companies that work for us. These may include firms that assist in marketing our products. We may also share information about you with outside financial companies that have joint marketing agreements with us. These arrangements give you the opportunity to receive additional products or services.
Q. Is information about me shared with non-financial companies outside your family of companies? A. Yes. We may share information about you with companies outside of our family as permitted by law, including retailers, auto dealers, auto makers, direct marketers, membership clubs and publishers.
Q. Is information about me shared in any other ways? A. Yes. We may also share information about you in other ways, as required or permitted by law. Here are some examples of ways that we share information. To protect against fraud.
To respond to a subpoena.
To service your account.
With your consent.
Q. What choices do I have about information sharing? A. We offer you the following two choices about sharing information that identifies you:
Choice #1. You may tell us not to share information about you with non-financial companies outside of our family of companies. Even if you do tell us not to share, if you have authorized us to share information in connection with a particular product or service, we will continue to share information about you in connection with that product or service. For example, you might have a credit card with one of our airline, retail or university partners that offers rewards programs.
and
Choice #2. You may tell us not to share the following information about you within our family of companies: Information from your applications to be used to determine your eligibility, such as your income.
Information from credit reports, such as your credit history.
Information from sources used to verify information you provide us, such as outstanding loans or employment history. Even if you do tell us not to share, we may share other types of information within our family. Theoretically... except in my experience the checks are always "out of stock" and only the GCs are available for redemption. Good luck.

just hope you don't ever have any issues that you have to call customer service... saying its hard to understand them is almost an understatement... I called the number today, and with either HR1 or Z3R they can only offer me $50. Plus, they wouldn't waive my balance transfer fee. So I just asked them to hold the application and call them back 3-4 days to see what's going on.

I got the HQ1 offer in my Sunday paper. Remember with the Z3R deal it took them about a week to recognize it, so I recommend holding off for a week or so. I'm just wondering how many of these $100 deals one person is allowed? I'm thinking of cancelling out my other Chase card and just keep applying for these until I get rejected. Ditto for my wife. Hope to get at least $400-$600 between the 2 of us.

My contribution to this thread:
VW7 was dead (asked about the promo and they said the only one they were running was 5000 bonus points) HQ1-fifty (asked about the hundred dollar promo and they said the only one they were running was 5000 bonus points) Z3R-100 dollars. HF9-Didn't try.
There is clearly some external factor which determines what codes work and which correspond to which offers, though none of the CSRs got any info from me before I asked about the promotion.
At any rate, try them all and if they say the only promo they have in existence at all is fifty 5000 bonus points (or fifty bucks), know them for the liars they are--LOL-- hang up, call back and try the next code.

Actually, you can call back and try the same code. Back when Z3R came out, I spoke to about 5 different CSR's, 2 of which confirmed $100, the other said $50.
