Does this rule of once in life apply if different AE card?

I called to cancel a few days ago and they offered to convert to either the blue sky or the hilton card. I chose the latter since it had a 10k bonus. Of course they waived the Delta annual fee before conversion.

Wow! I'll have to try to convert to Blue Sky once I use my free HHonors points. I wasn't offered Blue Sky back in April. Although, it would probably mean closing and opening the accounts and might not be worth it from that perspective. Anyone else get offered conversion to Blue Sky?
