i called and get this one

>>>0% apr for 12 months, extended to 15 months if you spend $300 in purchases within 90 days with no fee. This will involve converting whatever card you have to an AT&T Platinum Card. Make sure whatever card you convert you redeem any rewards you have as you will lose them. To get the whole 15 months simply spend $300, pay it off, then do a BT.

saved a bunch money

thanks, bow

If the cap is $300 - then it doesnt matter even if you get 50% CashBack - coz it will just stop at $300!

I always reach my $300 within first 6months (already did for my citi plat)

this is useful for only those stuggling to reach the cap.

A lot of people here have multiple citicards.

Thanks! I'll be getting 5% on my college tuition. Too bad it's only for 3 months.

LOL
The higher you Cash Back % the less you need to spend in order to earn $300.
I would not mind getting 50% Cash Back. Then you only have to spend $600 in order to get $300 in Cash Back.
Then switch to the next card

fyi,

Called the number and the CSR who answered could only give 0% APR for a year which I did not want. He could not/would not give me bonus points. I asked to be transferred to the retention center and the "retention" guy was very polite and helpful but could only give me 1500 bonus points if I spend $300 in 3 months. He also mentioned to call back later again and see if they could do better!

I was offered bonus points I changed my card from Diamond preferred rewards to Dividend rewards. I did not want to do that because I can earn 75000 point/year but with dividend, the max is 30000 points or $300/year.

Thanx OP, 5 minutes got me 1500 bonus points. I shall do it again later (if I remember).

those of you getting an additional 1%, what's your usage pattern on the card?

- use regularly
-- (a) pay in full
-- (b) have balance (yikes! cut up the card and transfer to a 0%)
- don't use regularly
-- (c) never have
-- (d) used to but have moved to chase cash plus, etc.

um, or options e through zz.

thx! (i'm in d)

Got the reply that my account does not qualify for retention. Too bad, they will just let me go.

got 2%, 5% CashBack offer

alert mods

I see little value in the 2% offer as I usually max out the $300 yearly limit in the 5% purchase category. 0% BT is not bad, but the period they offer is usually shorter than what new cardholders get. Bonus points look good, but all my Citi cards now are Dividend or AT&T Universal Cash Rewards. Has anyone received good retention offers for Citi Professional Elite or AAdvantage?

What does this have to do with retention offers?

alert mods

well, it would effectively end retention offers

I want everyone to hold tons of debt so CC can offer more rewards to me

Explain how it would end retention offers? Getting 2% on rewards instead of 1% has nothing to do with having debt on the card.

How do you do that? Tuition payment deos not belong to the 5% category unless you have the "5% for all purchases" card.

Thanks OP,

I got 9% off my current APR down to Prime.

Thanks so much

Sure it does, in the aggregate. The only way the CC companies can afford these promotions is because they collect so much interest and fees from people who revolve balances. If everyone suddenly decided to pay off their credit cards, it's highly unlikely they could afford such lucrative rewards. We'd go back to the days of high annual fees and rewards programs that you have to pay to join.

But don't credit cards also collect fee from merchants when you use their card and thats why some merchants might not like bank of america's new program where they will round ure purchases up to the nearest dollar and deposit the difference in the savings account. This will encourage use of the credit card whenever ythe buy anything, even small purchases, and will allow bank of america to collect more debit card fees from the merchant.

Tried, didn't qualify. I told them if they couldn't extend the 0% offer, I would pay it off with a 0% BT from another card and close the account. That didn't fly. I guess I don't have the touch...
