SImply open a new account, be a new customer, and mention code

It says you need to bring the coupon with you when you open it, but I had a friend who just mentioned the promo code and it worked just fine. Here is a link to the coupon: Coupon picture here
I received this coupon in the mail when I changed my address with the US Postal Service. Just had my mail forwarded, thats all. But I'll take it. Should work in ALL states, as it says "...available in any BoA banking center." I am in Massachusetts.
that stinks, I just opened a BOA account a week ago online and got fifty bucks free..thought that was a steal... 75 is that much sweeter..oh well..I still got a great deal.

1. You have to go to the branch to take the deal. 2. Limited 1 per household only.
dont they make you open the account at a branch anyways? i suppose you could send in your app, but it's so much faster to go (probably down the block) to your local BoA.

yes thats what happened, simply went to the branch, had a copy of the promo flier (printed from the link above), mentioned the promo code and was then golden.
no monthly fee with dirct deposit, $5.95/mo without direct deposit. mentioned nothing about early closing penalty.

well, I went to a nearby branch which used to be fleet bank and got turned down. The woman made a call to the "redemption hotline" to ask about the coupon and was told ORIGINAL coupon is required. Photocopies no good. So 40 min lunch hour time wasted. Now I remember why I hated the old fleet. seems like nothing has changed since BOA took over.

How exactly did you get the coupon? Did it come in a mailing from the USPS? I just checked the latest "change of address kit," at my local PO, and the coupon was not a part of it.
it was after i requested a change of address online that it came to my new address via USPS.

I haven't followed through on this (I need to run errands tomorrow anyway, and BoA is on the way) but FWIW I put the promo code into their online account signup form and it was accepted.

they took the printout of the reciept of the picture? because I tried opening the account at my BoA and got denied, they wanted the original coupon to accept it

yes, it worked before with just the coupon code and also reported to work with a print out.
My dad loves BOA's customer service. I have SunTrust bank in Atlanta and I am going to switch to BOA since ST isn't everywhere and I travel to West coast and to the North East a lot.
WarrenBuffet said: the bank rep I spoke with told me that "he didn't have a place to input the code"... can I safely assume he was lying?
probably.. because there are always promotions that need to be manually entered in. unless he was maybe doing a non-standard way of opening an account, i.e. paperwork, rather than on their computer system. thats my only guess
For the direct deposit requirement, do ACH pushes/pulls from say, HSBC Savings, count? I thought I saw someone on here mention any ACH transfer would count as the "direct deposit" monthly...

I did this deal today. Took the printout of the coupon to the local branch and he gladly accepted the promo code. I did not open MyAccess checking because of the DD requirement but instead opened a regular checking that requires a min $750 deposit. Also, got free box of checks alongwith other things such as bill pay etc.
Also, when I was in the bank I noticed another offer for a referral. Both, the person referring and the new person who opens a checking account can get $25. I am wondering if this can be combined with the $75 offer. If so, it will make it pretty hot, $100 for both me and mt wife for a total of $200.
Does anybody know if it will work.

I just opened this today.
I went to my nearest branch, gave them the code, and after opening the account, they entered the code along with some of my info into what looked like an intranet screen.
good, im glad it's working for most people.. most people seem to be getting good mileage out of it.

I got a similar letter. And the offer seems much sweeter. It says $100 for opening a new personal checking account; and open a savings account at the same time, you get $25 extra. So, it is $125 total.
BTW, the fine print says offer excludes current checking customer and student checking account.

Is there a diff promo code than the one mentioned for $75 and can you please post it. I have to still open the seconf checking account in my wife's name this Sat. It would be nice to get a $25 boost and another $50 from referral.
