5 points for every dollar spent @ gas station, drug stores for the first 12 months, 1 points after.
1 point for all other purchases

10,000 points required to redeem $100 Gift card. Works out to $2,000 spent per gift card. (first gc free)

I clicked in the link and my Netcraft antiphising toolbar refused to open the site. It said it was a fraudulent phising attack. May be legitimate but be careful.

the link just hangs at the "loading" page for me.

In Mozilla, the page does not load. In Explorer, the page loads but it comes up with "A system error has caused a delay in processing your application. Please try again later."

Working link Text Click Simplicity Rewards Card for the $100 gift card.

Thanks OP! Will get the $100 gift card and hopefully they still do BT to checking so I can put that 0% money into ED.

can you elaborate on "BT to checking so I can put that 0% money into ED"

How do you do it and what happens exactly?

I've never had Citi do a direct BT to checking (not sure if the previous poster was speaking literally), but I do know that Citi will give you the option of being sent a check that you can deposit and do whatever you please with. They will treat the check as a balance transfer, even though they are essentially handing you cash.

thanks!

i just applied. so after my 1st charge, i ll get a credit for 100 within 8 weeks?
the link doesnt work. i went through the citi.com website and looked for the card itself. still displays $100 reward after 1st purchase. anyone got it yet?

I got the card today. When I signed up on-line, it even includes price protection program, bettern than my expect!

So you get the card make a purchase, pay off, then do the BT, right?
Will the 0% balance transfer offer still be available online, where all the BT offers appear when you login to your account?

I saw in Family Circle that they were offering 0% APR and Balance transfers until 2/07 with this card,.. but no mention of 10,000. Does anyone if they automatically give 10k points just for opening the account?

i cant remember, did someone say there was an Amazon gift card?
cause i cant find it on the rewards site. maybe im just imagining things.
i cant decide which gift card to get. i dont need any of them. im afraid that after i order the gift cards, i dont use them and they'll just sit there.
any advice?
the Cash Back is so stupid because it requires so many more points.
how about the loan rebates? anyone tried that?

Just go to the Citi website pull down the menu apply for cards, the offer will be there, the offer is for 0% balance transfer + 10,000 points after first purchase.

was wrong

I applied for this card last week, and received the regular Simplicity card instead of the Simplicity Rewards card. I know for a fact that I signed up for the Rewards card with the $100 bonus, because I printed out the page before I filled out the application.

I just talked to a customer service rep, though, and she told me that while they can certainly upgrade my card, they can't give me the $100 unless I reapply...

I guess I'm just going to reapply for the $100, and then see if I can change my current Simplicity card to a Dividend card (which I also wanted).

I would try a different rep, that just sounds lame. Offer to fax in the printout.

I got the same speech. I did apply for the dividend / $100 GC one.

LAME. I'll never use this card now.

Has anyone been able to get the BT to their checking account? That would be key for me.

Yes, Citi allows BT to checking accounts. They will mail you a check, or you can ACH directly to your account once you set up AccountOnline.

When I did the BT, it said checking account info may be required, when I clicked next it just said a check would be mailed, I would rather have done a ACH transfer but did not see an option for it.

I think I know what happened. I originally tried to apply for this card through the Citicards.com site, but for some reason every time I clicked on the "Apply Now" link for the Simplicity Rewards Card it sent me to the Simplicity Card application instead (it said Simplicity Card on the top of the first page of the application). I then went through the direct referral links given in this thread and got one that actually put me through to the Simplicty Rewards Card app and applied there.
At the time I figured it was just my browser messing up, but since it works now I'm guessing the link on their site might have been messed up for a few days.

Applied for the card and received this after three days:

Called the number and was offered a Citi Professional which I declined. They said I would receive my Simplicity card within 7 - 10 days.

I'll bet if you'd wanted to you could have gotten both cards out of the deal. Since the Professional is in another card category they seem to treat approval for that card independent from approval for other Citi cards -- they almost act as if it was being issued by a whole other bank in terms of qualifying you for it!

I called to check the status of my simplicity rewards card and was offered the professional card with same rewards and $10,000 bonus points ($100 gc), which I accepted. Thanks, OP.

Did they say if they were going to cancel the Simplicity Card, you applied for, and send you the Professional Card instead? (that's what they did to me)

This offer is still valid. Linky

just got my 100 dollar gift card! only a month!

A month ago, I called Citi about the screw up. The first rep I talked to suggested that I reapply for the Simplicity Rewards card, using the promo link. I tried that, and was denied due to too many recent applications (I had also applied for a Professional card when I got the Simplicity).

So, I called back and they said they could switch the Simplicity to a Simplicity Rewards card, but that I couldn't get the $100. I spoke to a woman in the approval office, and she looked into it, and said there was nothing she could do. She suggested that I call the main number, and ask for a supervisor, and explain the situation.

I called the main number, and was transfered to a supervisor/account manager. I explained what happened, and told him that I even had a print out of the application page that showed the offer (not the page with all my info filled in). He said he was going to change my card to the Rewards card, and then contact the Thank You Network company about putting my 10,000 points in anyway. He said he wasn't sure it would work, but that he'd try.

About a week and a half ago, the same guy called my home and left me a message on my answering machine saying that he was able to get the 10,000 points approved for me. I noticed they were added into my account early this week.

So, if you had the same problem I did, you may still be able to get your $100. I wasn't expecting to get it, but now am very impressed that Citi's customer service came through for me!

I can't seem to see that mentioned on-line for this card unlike the one for the Diamond Preferred Rewards.

Also, I go out of the country often and use credit cards. Are there good reward cards out there that don't charge the 3% foreign transaction fee like Citi cards do?

i just got a letter saying to call a number to get "Cash Back as statement credit" instead of points.
did anyone get that letter too? anyone tried it yet?

ipXtreme said: This offer is still valid. Linky

The link appears to be still valid, yet when you click "Apply Now" it takes you to an application that makes NO mention of the $100 bonus.

Also, Citi's own website seems to give conflicting info -- when you click to View All Cards, it makes no reference to a $100 bonus. But when you click to Learn More about the Simplicity Rewards card, it DOES list the $100 bonus.

Odd

I got my $100 Citi Bank gift card for Best Buy yesterday.

I just transferred my Citi Shell mastercard into the Simplicity, I tryed to convert my Shell card into the Dividend card, but the CS Manager told me that it wasn't possible, hopefully with the welcome packet I can argue to get this; )

Which number did you call to have the ShellMC transferred into the Simplicity? I tried to move the credit line to my Simplicity or Divident card but the CS told me Shell is a different product and cannot be done. Citi did this for my sister before when she opened the new card, they lower the shell CL for the divident.
