Bump. Also, note that a relatively new BT summary thread has some info on various issuers that would be useful in this thread's QS. A good task for lurkers who've made money on AORs but haven't created their own thread.... |

I was able to reallocate from biz to personal Discover card. Called last night, spoke to regular CSR, then biz, then biz supervisor, said I didn't want him to fill out an application for a CLI because I just got both cards within a week, so he said the "new accounts department" might be able to do it without an app/CLI request. That dept was closed last night, he made notes on my acct, I called back this morning and was able to have a business CSR talk to the new credit dept and get it done. Will link summary to this post. To get a supervisor, I told the rep that I'm in the business of doing my business, and they're in the business of making me use my discover cards. The only way we could do business together is if they reallocated my lines. Does the discover biz card definitely go on the report? My personal line showed up almost immediately, but the biz line hasn't shown up yet... |
Good info and way to get a supervisor, scripta. It may already be on here somewhere but I was able to reallocate from Citi-DiamondPreferred to Citi-Business, but couldn't do Citi-Prof to Citi-Business. CSR said they can't do Bus to Bus reallocation. |

A few more data points to try to give back for all I have learned here. Advanta Business: Was given 12.5K limit. I registered my checking account under bill pay on their website (as I read somewhere here). I was on hold less than 30 seconds. I was told I could transfer up to $12,125. He already had my checking account, gave me a confirmation number and said it will hit my checking account day after tomorrow. He did verify my last four of SSN, birthday, mothers maiden name, full SSN, CCID, shoe size,.... - so hopefully no call from fraud investigation. BoA: Thought I applied for a platinum card, but got a gold with a $8900 limit. Did an online CLI increase request, asked for $17K and was deferred, but a few hours later my online account showed $13K. The online system system accepted my routing and account number in one field, so I tried a 12K BT Sunday night. Yesterday I got a call from an unknown 800 number but missed it, with no message. Google pointed to MBNA, so I called BoA today. They said the system sent it, but my bank (Lasalle) would probably not know what to do with it, so he canceled the first transaction and completed it manually. He could not do $12,000 since the system saw it as a duplicate transaction, but was able to do $12,001. Should be in my account in four to six days. Citi: Was told they can't do direct to checking, but will either send me a check or put it into my HELOC. I have to wait for a reallocation to take effect so I can't do it for a day or two. Chase: Reallocated $16K from two old cards to a new one for a total of $29.9K. I wrote the BT check that came with the card to myself and deposited in my checking account. It cleared the next day which surprised me. |
This may not be a frequently asked question, but I think it should be -- with "green" being the new black, I'd be interested in seeing which issuers support electronic-only statements. Out of all cards I have, Advanta and WAMU are the only offenders (I'm appalled). If you care, vote this post green (ha) if you think this info should be in quick summary, red if not. |

BankAtlantic does support electronic-only statements. There's no way to change it on their website, but you can ask for it via "secure correspondence" or by calling. Maybe they don't accept electronic payments (I can't find them with Citibank billpay either). Edit: nevermind Advanta, their online CSR is stupid. I was able to call and ask to stop paper statements. |
Could be super thread. Should we all work on these? |
duna said:Could be super thread. Should we all work on these? Go right ahead! That's the way things work around here. If you want a convenient place to track issuer-specific reference info, or just want to give back to the FW community for all the money-making tips, dive right in. I'll even provide a specific suggestion: go through the initial post and Quick Summary of the most recent AOR thread then fill in any data that's missing from this FAQ. All it would take is one lurker for each AOR, and the FAQ would quickly become an amazing resource. The way to get there: step up and make a contribution yourself. That will encourage others to do the same. |
Per a discussion on my "5 day AOR" thread, I did some more research on State Farm. Here's data that could be copied to the Quick Summary, perhaps with added links. I may do that, or anyone should feel free. --- CardJuggler's conclusion on State Farm: worth applying for 8-14 days prior to the main AOR. Note: there are a few other cards that can be done during this "pre AOR" period. Other data points are welcome.
Update: added partial anon report plus notes from WalStMonky ... who didn't mention the credit line |
You can move Citi Business and Personal lines to Citi Professional, but not vice versa. Citi for some reason counts the Professional Card as Business & personal (appears on personal credit report). I have moved Citi Diamond and Business Premier Pass lines to Citi Professional. The key is to call the right issues. I called Premier Pass # to move to Professional and Diamond Rewards phone # to move to Professional. |
If you want to move your lines from Citi Professional try requesting that they convert to a different product like the Diamond Preferred, or any plain vanilla card, wait a number of days and then request the credit line tranfer. edit: no edit |
WalStMonky said:The State Farm Visa was actually my wife's account, a single pull from TU What was the credit line? |
According to the quick summary, you can only have 3 Citi cards, but according to people on this thread, that's a myth. Can anyone comment? Should we update the quick summary? |
On both of my personal Citi cards and all 3 of my Citi Business cards they all have the option to BT straight to my Bank Account. I've had these for 2 years, and the option to BT straight to Checking has always been there....maybe YMMV for some? |
