Exactly where did you see the reward for Continental?
I logged into my account, click on the link that says "Reward Details", which takes me to the reward ordering site, there are the regular $50 gift cards, but none Continental items there.
Thanks! |

Hi jrsmooth,
Chase has changed their web pages. It took me a few minutes to find it again. I had been looking at the pdf catalog I downloaded as well as the printout (I'm psyched about Argentina).
Here's how I found it with the new setup. Go to your account at Chase.com. Sign in. Look at the rewards card info. Click on reward details. Click redeem rewards. This takes you to a page with all rewards. Choose search by reward category Airlines. That should do it. Let me know if it works. If you click the wrong button you end up in an internet hell. It's possible that it doesn't show the airline options until you have 25,000pts or more. I have the pdf file if you want it. Maybe I could email it to you.
btw this is for the rewards plus VISA. I'm not sure about MC |

Hi alvinrocket,
Thank you for replying. I followed your instruction and found out why I don't have what you have. I have a Cash Plus Rewards MC, not the Reward Plus, and it is MC anyway.
Thank you for your help! |

jrsmooth,
That's a bummer but at least you still get the Cash Back. I was pretty happy with that until I realized this might help me with my trip. A few hundred bucks a year in gift cards isn't a bad consolation prize for buying gas and groceries |

Yep, it looks like Cash Plus and Rewards Plus have different items in their catalog... but you MAY be able to convert yours into Freedom with 15 rewards categories, and rewards points convert too. Currently they have 6000 Continental, United or British Airways miles for 5000 points. It is worth than with the co-branded cards, but then again, no annual fee and triple points in certain categories that the co-branded cards do not offer. |

Anyone notice on "See Rewards Details" link to redeem your rewards after signing in at Chase.com, the $100 cash check is gone, and now they have a 5000 pts = $50 check? looks like the 6000 pts = $50 check is gone too |

Too bad. nevermind, looks like the rewards link doesn't liked tabbed browsers and was showing my Cash Plus Rewards MC bonuses instead. But yeah I still have a 5%/1% Rewards Plus card. My most recent statement of June 22nd, I added up and still got 5% back on gas (thats the only 5% category I use, i get my groceries and drug store items from WalMart at 1%), and I never got a letter from chase changing my Rewards Plus or Cash Plus Rewards to Freedom cards, either. |

squeezer, it's probably just a matter of time... It appears as though Chase is eliminating the 5% and swinging everyone over to Freedom, but there are so many cardholders in these two programs, it will likely take a while for everyone to get switched....We have already heard about many here on FW with Cash Plus being switched, so, i have little doubt that we will all be getting moved over, sooner or later.... The points will move over to the new program, so you don't have to be concerned about any loss of points.... |

sounds good...and you might still find the 3% useful since with "dynamic rewards" it gives quite a few catagories you can earn the 3% on (freedom card).....also, if one is patient enough to wait to cash out at $200, they do give a $50 bonus...so, while not 5%, it's not too bad |

I've had the Rewards Plus card for over a year now. I have received NO notice of the card changing or my reward program changing. This morning, I log onto my Chase account and that account is now tagged as "Free Cash Rewards"!!! Is this the end? Without even a letter in the mail? Rewards details are unavailable at this time so I have no idea what the new program is like. Anybody else see this with their Rewards Plus card? EDIT: it looks like its a straight up 1% card. How crappy... Guess I need to look into other options. PenFed 5% for gas? Are there any 5% grocery still out there to combine with the PenFed Gas card? |

That is shady if they changed you without notification. I would call to see what a CSR can tell you, as futile as that sounds. I just checked my Rewards Plus, and it is still correct online. |

just an interesting observation...in case any have any doubt that the Rewards Plus will be phased out after they finish converting the Cash Plus to Freedom Rewards, you will note that the new shopping program is called, what? REWARDS PLUS and they even TM'd it.... Would they use the exact same name for the new shopping program, if they were planning on keeping the Rewards Plus (5%) card? I would think not... |

I just checked my Rewards Plus, and it is still correct online. A quick call to CS and the CSR I spoke with said my account was still a rewards plus card with 5% everyday purchases and that he had not heard of the Rewards Plus card program ending. It definitely says "Free Cash Rewards" on my online account information though, so I'm still skeptical. I think I'll be applying for a PenFed card for 5% gas and then hopefully I'll be able to convert this crappy "Free Cash" card to a Freedom Cash card for 3% grocery. |
