bill777,
Thanks for starting this thread. You might want to mention the no California part in the title as well...
If anybody hasn't been following this in the discussion about the best current APRs thread thread, this webpage was down from at least the 17th to the 21st. Since this deal doesn't qualify for the best APR thread it is good that bill777 started this thread so discussion can move here.
Seems to me if these newer players want to compete they are going to have to offer some sign up bonuses. I am sticking with Emigrant and HSBC until they entice me. No benefit for switching...

In spite of all the criticism they have endured, and exhibiting the generosity of the Xmas spirit, the have raised the APY to 4.25% from the 4.03% offered when I originally made the post to the quick summary!
Now, if they can just get that darn website to work and maybe reconsider offering the accounts to CA residents also, there may be hope for peace in the world yet.

If you're a Costco member, don't forget about Capital One through Costco. They adjust their rates fairly frequently, and it's currently 4.26% APY.
I just got done moving money from ING to HSBC. It was kind of a pain because I had to bounce it through a checking account.
Maybe some of these new players will start offering a sign-up bonus. Everyone can use an extra $25 or $50 now can't they?
Cheers & Merry Christmas

Anyone knows how fast is their ACH?? I hope FirstFedDirect does not use the slow-a_$_$ CashEdge as HSBCdirect does.
