Did you transfer all your money out before sending in the letter to close the account and the $50? I asked because when I had the account before, I transferred all money out and CSR said that since the account was already closed when the letter was received that I was not qualified for the $50. How long before you receive the $50 after requesting it?

Common sense would be to call and cancel the account and not the other way around. CRS said that you have a 1 month deadline after the 3-month promo ends to send the written cancellation notice..You will not recieve the $50 bonus until they get the written cancellation notice

Not sure what that means. I zeroed my account the day the promo interest rate ran out, mailed in my unsatisfied letter, and I asked them to close the account which was at 0. Since my statement had just come out I had to wait until the next statement before the $50 was mailed to me.

I am now at the last step. Account is closed (after having sent a "disappointed" letter), last statement received, the remainder of my money was sent with a check. Still, no signs of the $50.
Did I miss something?

Yes, you missed the fact that they are reading this thread and know you are not disappointed but are merely interested in their money.

Is there a fee for using the electronic transfer service? I searched the fee section, but did not see any exact match. Anyone knows?

I just opened this account and so far I am satisfied. The process went smoothly, although all of the various mailings are trickling in slowly. The only annoyance I've encountered so far is that, when you link to an external account, they withdraw the 2 small deposits made to your external account. This is rare, and while it's only a matter of cents, if you have linked a savings account, those 2 tiny withdrawals count toward your 6-per-month limit. It also makes EB look kind of cheap.
