Just checked my account and they've corrected their mistake. (Or at least they've given me a provisional credit...I'll check their numbers when I get home.)

Glad they're quick to act, but kinda frustrating to have to call to get them to pay what they claim they do. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Are you getting 5.01 apy or 4.98apy?

I'm pretty sure we're all getting 5.01% APR for the promo rate.

The number you saw reported isn't quite right. Not sure whether the inaccuracy is due to rounding, delayed availability of funds (did you do any deposits during the month?) or another event which might have caused you to not earn interest on a portion of your funds (did you do a withdrawal during the month?).

No,I did none of what you asked above.
I asked 2 people from Everbank they both said "nobody would ever actually get 5.01apy".Both answered like they get asked that alot. They said the most anyone would ever get is 4.98apy,like it says on the statement ,but please call and ask them.

Please post the answer you get from Everbank.

This doesn't instill much confidence in the bank.
nice, their machines cant even segregate the statement pages

Relax. I'm guessing we're all earning 5.01%, but their on-statement calculations are just completely screwy.

Just got the paperwork for my new account. It says 5.01% annual percentage yield/ 4.89% interest rate.

I went online and looked at my statments and at least online, when I look at my checking account it says:
Last Statement APY Earned: 5.01%

The only complaint I can come up with everbank is that their ACH transfers are slow. I mean if I want to transfer to another checking account it's going to take a week. I'm not sure if it's much of a complaint, becuase others who are using other online checking tell me that you don't even have the option to link to any checking/savings or invest place that you want.

I've tranfered from other accounts that offer ACH and if I'm transfering through everbank I use their system. What I mean is yesterday I transfer some money from EmigrantDirect into everbank and this morning the money was already there. If I would have gone through everbank for the transfer I belive it would have taken almost a week.

Sorry,I just talked to a 3rd csr at Everbank. The first 2 explained it wrong.
When I asked the first 2 " So no one will ever get the full 5.01?" They said"No, no one ever would".

But what they should have said was "No one that exceeds the 100k" like my account did till today.

So the 5.01apy is right, if you have under 100k in the account. If you have over 100k they average down the apy to between 5.01 and the 3.55. Thus the 4.98 in my case.

Warning:
Everbank will not let you close your account with an ACH! 2 csr's told me how to fill out the ACH form to close. Now 2 weeks later, they will only mail a check. I GET THE FEELING I WAS PUT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST BECAUSE I ASKED FOR THE $50 BONUS. After a lot of back and forth calls , the manager will allow me to fax an ACH form in and ACH all but $500 to my new bank. They want $5 to do an ACH! First bank I've ever had charge for an ACH.

I totally agree, and have a plan to move your money ready when your 5.01% ends. Actually I did have a plan ready but thanks to Everbanks mistake I lost a few bucks interest. The $50 bonus will make up for it.

I sent my Dear John letter to Everbank on Wednesday. Too many screw ups on interest granted. I'm really not sure whether I've been paid all I should have been, but I guess the $50 should close the gap.

The promo rate is now 5.51%. Was told that existing customers still in the first 90 days would not get the rate increase though.

I spoke with another rep who checked on this and said you would get the newer promo rate during the first 90 days.

I'm confused by this bank. I just called and the CSR told me that my existing account (which is less than 2 months old) will be getting 5.51% APY from here on out.

She also confirmed that I can move money from my Everbank account to my linked online account and it will take 3-4 business days. Doesn't seem all that bad. Transfer most of the money before telling them you want to take your business elsewhere and then claim the $50.

in the past, ppl in the middle of a intro promo DO GET the higher bonus rate. Who knows how they will handle it now though..apparently they dont even know.

Incompetence doesnt mix well with large $$ deposits.

I've been using everbank for about two months and I do transfers all the time with them. The transfers are slow in my opinion and they take 5 business days. Basically since that doesn't count the weekeend if you are transfering something, just expect it to be transfered a week later. They say it's not them it's the ACH, but why is it that if I have a checking account with somebody else and I request the money to be pulled out from them and deposited in my checking account that everbank does it and it shows it pulled out of my other checking acount the next day. But it takes almost a week before it's deposited in everbank's checking. Most checking accounts don't even let you link to another instiutions with free ACH tranfers so I guess I can't complain about tha too much, becuase at least I have the options. Besides that I am very happy with everything else.

So you are always using ACH function from EverBank in above cases?

Anyone can comment on the speed of deposit/debit at EverBank if we initiate ACH push/pull AT other banks like ING/ED?

Thanks.
