didYOUsearch said: but which particular citi card? where did you see the promo?

can you delay starting the BT like with other citi cards? that could enable ppl to setup 0% deals for the next 28 months...

platinum select, saw the ad in a mail flyer. says to apply online or call by 4/15/06 to get the 0%. not much more detail.

after you enter code, it shows the application is for Citi® Platinum Select® MasterCard®.

Thanks OP, going to apply.

This offer also states that it has a "0.00% APR on purchases until 03/01/2007..."

Sounds like a great offer.

Is there a minimum monthly purchase requirement on this?

how many CC do you guys have??

I don't carry much of a balance on my other cc so how do I take advantage of this offer?

Can I request citi to send me a BT check so I can deposit @4.25 APR for the full credit line?

Thanks.

No.

This might be common knowledge to some, but...

Another point to consider for those looking to pay off other credit cards, "Please note you cannot transfer balances from other accounts issued by Citibank USA N.A., Citibank (South Dakota) N.A., or their affiliates."

For those that want to do a BT from non-Citi CCs, but already have an existing Citi CC, this application will be a totally new credit card. If you are approved for this Citi Platinum Select MC, you can either keep your existing Citi CC, cancel it, or consolidate both CCs. I'm sure there are ramifications for these actions explained somewhere in these threads.

You can also request the BT as a check that they will mail to you (you can use it to pay off a balance or use it to invest as discussed in this thread, or whatever).

citi affiliates... assuming AT&T Universal Cards also Citi's affiliate...

Question here:
How many citi credit card can one have before Citi start denying new application?
I think I read it somewhere from FWF, either 2 or 3.

I recently signed up for the Citibank $200 promotion for opening up a checking account. During the opening the CSR offered me the Platinum Select card with 0% BT and I have 2 Citi cards already.

if you have the Platinum Select already, do you need to close it
first?

what i got was:
The offer code you entered is invalid.

Enough!

Suzy Orman says if the number of CCs you have totals more than the days of the week, you're addicted to CC spending

More than my fingers and toes.

I'm planning to buy a home by end of 2006 or by early 2007, does this will affect me? any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you don't have a space typed right after the code

If you have a large amount of debt, the debt will probably affect you either way. I don't know if the APR that your debt is at will lower/raise your credit score, but I could certainly be wrong.

If this will help you pay the debt down (which, 0% vs 16% APR obviously would), then I'd say go for it as long as you aren't stretched too thinly among your credit cards already. If that's the case, call your creditors and see if you can get them to lower your APR, either for 6 months, 12 months, or for good. Most will at least hear you out and there's no harm in calling.

Thanks cix22, I have absolutely no debts, planning to make some money out of this offer.

you probably will get a hit of 20 points on your credit score and it may impact your mortgage apr. factor that before you jump in.

I have 3 cards with overall credit limit of 30k. All of it is on 0% bt. Citi does not let me take any more cards.

can we do a transfer to our checking a/c

Did you try with this offer??

I am roughly in your same situation also 3 cards with CITI, VL ~45K ...all out of 0% bt.

I wonder if they will allow me a 4th (this one)

I have heard 3 is about max on citi, but my wife got one and probably could get 2 more anyway.

I have 6 citi cards, so there is no limit, I confirmed this with retention and from cust. service. Only limiting factor is your credit history and income. In fact, I have 2 dividend cards. I just might take this offer since it could be the last long term fee free BT deal around.

Once I have collected two solar masses of Citibank 0% BT cards, I will detonate the sun!

4deals said: can we do a transfer to our checking a/c

Hrm.. I second this question. I did this with my other CC earlier this week, I am not sure if it will go through.

using an Iludium Q-36 Space Modulator?.

Unless you are a FW'er, who gets them for the constant flow of $100 and $50 Gift cards and cash bonuses, and then sticks them in a drawer!
Then your addicted to free money.....

Don't copy and paste it, it won't work that way.

SuZy Orman can kis my %^#

Sweet, I am paying my Citi BT money down under 50% of my credit limit before I apply - should hit this deal by late next week.

Just did online application and it says they will contact me via snail mail for the decision. Any of you guys get online acceptance?

...and I was thinking that was the FWF equivalent of one of those "Confucius say..." jokes

I applied on my Wife's behalf last night, & I got the decision by mail thing too!!!

It was odd, because I was looking to do the BT Promo, but nowhere was I asked to enter BT info! What gives???

Can I transfer my auto loan to this card? I'm getting snookered by Carmax Auto Finance.

Let me see.
Emm. I have 5 citi credit cards. They are one diamond preferred card, one professional card, three premier cards.
Recently, I applied for citi simplicity card. but I was declined. and the reason was that recently too many cards were opened.

go ahead and request your BT check. You should be fine as long as your payment has cleared and your balance is showing as $0
