Why does it seem very few people are paying attention to the number I posted at the top of the thread? People just say they did not get an instant response or they ask for the number to call when I have already posted it. |

Most likely, either they are newbie, or just lazy to read the whole thread. It's like the post for Office Deppot's deal, $260AR (REBATE VALID 2/12-2/18). Some guy replies "why is there a tax for $24?", or "when is the expiration date for rebate?". Gee... |

It is a $100 statement credit, not a gift card. |

They are getting smarter for sure...........
Did not get online approval, called in and credit analyst saw that I had gotten 3 other Schwab cards this past year, made a small purchase and then closed them down after I got my reward. He wanted to know if that was the reason I was applying again. LOL
I told him I wanted a card to track my purchases seperate from my wifes. He said based on the past closures he couldn't approve me. Oh well.
Thanks for the iPod shuffle and $200 last year.
Oh, and the wife got approved again for this offer anyway, even though she'd gotten all the other offers last year too. Free money is great! |

Man instant approval with no job on student status with 8300 credit line. I pay of all my debts at the end of every month so I never pay a cent in interest but when companies do crap like this I can easily see how people get in way over there head and have a hard time getting out if they can't manage their money. Not that that would include any fatwalleters since we are all about stretching a dollar as far as it will go. |

Thanks OP! Had to call in to get confirmation and got a 2k credit limit.
I was told by the CSR that the credit should show up instantly.
He did mention, however, that "you won't get the credit for buying something for like $.01, though."
I don't know the specific limit expected, but I imagine if you buy a few groceries it should be fine. |

Binar said:How soon can you cancel it after you get the $100 credit ?As soon as you pay off your bill, but since some Schwab CSRs seem to be interested enough to notice how many past Schwab CC accounts applicants have had and how quickly they closed them you might keep a month or so at 0.00 balance. |

FYI, this card appears to come with a BVG type program.
Quoted from this page if you click the "Be Secure" tab
"Price Protection program from VisaŽ: If you find an item advertised at a price lower than what you paid within 60 days of the purchase, Visa will give you a refund of up to $500 per item. (Now you can shop without worrying about future sale prices.)" |
