The only negative is AMEX takes FOREVER to put the points onto your SPG account. It's been 10 weeks and I'm still waiting for my 6k points.

Just call them. I got my points in the next statement immediately after I called.

When I gave them a call, they told me to wait the full 12 weeks.

Can you switch from Blue Cash to the Starwood Card? I know about the annual fee etc, and I am assuming the answer is no, but I just thought it would be worth asking. Thanks!

I think the answer is no too. But you've got to ask the CSR.

I got 6K points (and first year free) when I got this card initially (last year), so this offer may be rare but it is not new.
