This is the Citi American Express card unlike the other Diamond Rewards MasterCard. 5X Thank You Points on Gas. Supermarket, and drug stores. 1X everywhere else. 10,000 Thank You points after 1st purchase in 3 months. 0% APR on Balance Transfer until 4/1/2007 and no BT tranaction fee with this offer

you probably can signup for this one and convert to it to dividend. Or better yet, signup for a Citibank Master Card which offers $100 GC(i.e. professional) through cardoffers.com(get extra $40 bonus) and then convert it to AMEX dividend.
Btw, AMEX dividend is a clone of MC dividend so there is no real advantage in getting it over the MC. Disadvantage is that AMEX is not accepted everywhere.

Anyone know can you BT 10,000$ to your emigrant account to make the interest for 1 year?

I believe the MC dividend you can keep getting 5% every year for supermarkets, etc., whereas with this card, after one year it drops down to 1%.

what do you mean? it appears to have the same benefits.. where does it say not underwritten by them?
simply not issued by them.. AMEX and discover have been complaining for years that they cant get other banks to issue their cards like visa and mc (how many VISA or MC backed cards do you see? none)

On the link that the OP posted, the insurance is provided for by the Triton Insurance Company.
But on the AMEX cards, they're all underwritten by American Express. So therefore I assume that when you have a claim, it won't be as easy to proceed with as if you had a 100% AMEX.

Was given a private offer for the PremierPass, with 10K points instead of the listed 5K points.
But as I don't really fly, the Dimond Preferred seesm to be better as the PP does not offer Price Protection or anything.
I think I would then convert it to a Dividend...

Sorry, if this has been asked before but how does one go about converting a card to AMEX dividend? Is it as easy as just calling up and asking Citibank to change it? Are there any forms to fill out?

Converting between different cards is painless through Citibank when maintaining the same network (ie: Visa->Visa, MC->MC). I did it recently with my oldest card and all it took was a phone call. They issued me a new card with the same cc# with the dividend logo. In the transitional period, I could still use my old card. It was a great way to turn my first card (a college non-rewards card) into something a little more decent.
I really doubt they will do it between the different networks. Why not just sockdrawer the old card and open a new one? You should be able to reallocate CLs between the cards if they don't give you a satisfactory limit on the new one.
Yes, I have gotten this card and used it at Costco. I do not know yet if it qualifies for 1% or 5% because I haven't had a statement yet.

I want an AMEXCash Back card, but there's no free $100 to open that card so I was hoping to open this card get my $100 then switch to a dividends. I like cash more than gift cards.

really? do you call the number of the existing card, or the number of the card that you want to convert to? I called up a new mastercard CC to ask them to convert my old card, and they said that they could only apply for the new card, then cancel my old one, but could not convert?!

That would be appreciated if you may post your discovery after receiving your statement, on how Costco purchase is categorized as 1% or 5%.
