Just received this in my email today. Can't find any better miles card offers for AA.
Citi Platinum Select / AAdvantage World MasterCard
Apply now and pay no annual fee for the first 12 months2 with the Citi(R) Platinum Select(R) / AAdvantage(R) World MasterCard(R). You'll also earn 20,000 AAdvantage(R) bonus miles after your first purchase
- An AAdvantage(R) mile for every $1 spent on purchases - Reduced Mileage Awards on American Airlines
Thanks for posting, OP. I wouldn't have seen this otherwise, since I don't frequent the other sites mentioned. I think I will go ahead and get this card with that deal.
1. Apply for this card. 20k 2. Apply for the Gold AA card. 12.5k 3. Apply for the AA Business card. 15k 4. Wait for bonus miles to appear in your account. 5. Cancel all cards. 6. Wait 6 months, then return to step 1.
Enjoy a few trips, courtesy of our friends at citibank.

You can get 20,000 miles for the Citi AA Business card - link.
Do I have to wait any amount of time after I cancel (or consolidate) my current AA card before reapplying? I've been lazy and haven't even bothered trying to get a retention offer. Gotta get with it!
Edit: Nevermind. I noticed someone noted "60 days" in the Flyertalk thread.

Not really, only 3 inquiries every 6 months. Average age would hurt a bit but no big deal if you've got a number of other old cards. Lots of ways to do more damage than this.

I was looking at the terms and conditions and couldn't see any mention of whether you would have to give up the 20,000 miles if you cancel the card. So, basically, there's no disadvantage to opening the card (assuming you've got good credit) right?
Also, I couldn't find a link to the card when I went thru the menu on the right. I only found the 15K and 12.5K bonus mile offer. Should I be worried that they may not validate this? Has anyone tried it and had it work?

What types of trips could you get with this accumulation? I'm looking at their reward chart and it's giving me a headache. Have you done this before, and where have you gone? All of these acronyms and astericks are crazy!!! What does it all mean man?!?!?
Do suggest spreading this out? Or, do all of them at the same time every six months?

How long will it take for the 20,000 miles to be credited? I know the T&C say 8-10 weeks, but what is the average?

I just got mine today, applied about 10 days ago. It all depends on when your first statement closes though, miles are credited that day. BTW I just opened and closed another advantage card in September, so they do give bonus miles multiple times.
