My 0% BT was only until 4/1/07. Can anyone tell me how the BT work? I have 2 other Citi cards, can I reallocate some of the limit from those cards to this one then use the BT? Will I need to make monthly payments or am I good in paying one lump sum when it's due back? Also will it affect my ability to do CLI? On new cards, it suppose to be 6 months before an increase according to the website. |

I just had them move whatever limit amount they could off of my other CITI cards and onto this one. The other cards had their own minimum credit limits which they would not go below so I got a bit less than I was hoping to transfer. Just call the support line and ask to consolidate from the other cards. In my case, they completed the reallocation the same day.
I also asked for a higher limit, but CITI did not want to oblige since all together, my limits were as high as CITI was willing to go for the time being (about 25K).
I expect to pay 1.5% of balance remaining each month, followed by the lump sum just before the offer expiration date.
Lastly, I would expect your CLI requests on older accounts which you may reduce to shift credit to the BT will be less likely to succeed. But do go online anyway after each month's closing date to see if the auto-increase button will capitulate without a pull. |

IMO - no minimum. I've done very small transactions (say, <$2), waited for it to post, and did a Citibank Checking -- Citicard Transfer (through Citibank Online) for instant payment and did a BT. Got the points. |

I will have to wait till the first purchase is posted and paid before I start the BT, right?

Well, you just may have forfeited your 10,000 thank you points. You need to make a purchase first to qualify for those...
You should make a purchase - pay off the balance (you don't have to wait for the statement) - then do the BT... |

Most likely not as Citi manages this AMEX card. AMEX probably doesn't even have these accounts accessible to their normal customer reps. |

Right - but then how do you plan to get the Thank You points without making the first purchase within 3 months? If you were not planning to use it for the TY points, then your method works just fine as well. |
