FYI, they rejected my application because my drivers license (CA) doesn't match my current residence (UT). They won't take utility bills or any other proof of residence. This probably won't affect many of you, but it may be a hassle to some. I hear you - same thing for me. I guess I'll open a GMAC account after my AOR.
Weird, as I have the license issue too, only Amboy accepted my account while GMAC has a problem with a second account I want to open, even though my first account with GMAC went through. |

But, geez... couldn't they find a better name? |

According to a CSR I spoke to, 5% APR is still available for the first three months on MM Maximizer accounts if you are referred by an existing member. You may want to double check this. 5% is on the first 100K only and requires some minimum (not sure 10K or 30K). |

Got into my account for the 1st time today...just noticed in the "Transaction Search" area, there is a way to export OFX files.
Edit: Unfortunately, since Amboy is not in Quicken's list of financial institutions (you'll notice this when you set up the new account in Quicken), they complain when you try to open the OFX file generated by Amboy since they claim they can't "verify financial institution information" or some such. Also, Quicken 2005 doesn't allow importing QIF files into Savings accounts...DOH!!! |

Same interest as GMAC bank, only they don't pull a credit report to open the account (I just confirmed this by talking to a CSR). They just pull your chexsystems report (which is normal for bank accounts).
Also. Minimum opening deposit is $1 (vs 500 for GMAC) and no minimum monthly balance.
The account can only be linked to one outside checking account.
Actually, minimum opening deposit for GMAC is $50. |

Not yet. Make a request in the Yodlee thread - myself and at least one other person already have. |

have no problem opening an account. However, after verification, first, I couldn't find the option to do ACH transfer. After called them, they add the option to my account. But when I tried to do in-going transfer, I got following error message: "To account for client does not allow this type of transfer". They don't have a clue to solve the problem. |

Same issue here. According to their online help, however, the "Funds Management" menu is supposed to have the "Issue a Fund Transfer" option. Is that what they added for you, and why wasn't it done automatically like their welcome email says???

I tried Funds Management --> Transfer List, then checked the box labeled "To (my checking account number)" and hit Submit. A form appeared, and I was able to input a transaction amount. I'll post back with the speed of the transfer (NB: I am in New Jersey, so perhaps this will work to my advantage). Interestingly (or perhaps not), after you submit your transaction, a very detailed description of your ACH request can be viewed. From this detail, it can be confirmed that Amboy's routing number is 021204416. |

Unfortunately, "Transfer List" is not one of the only 2 options they give me for "Funds Management". I only see "Transfers Issued" or "Incoming ACH Search". I wonder if it takes some time for them to complete their verification? Boy, and I thought (initially) that Emigrant's site was bad...
Edit: Called their toll-free number, and was sent to voicemail. Left a message, was called back by a very nice CSR (I left the VM at 8am, she called me back at 2pm) who added the new "Transfer List" menu option (just as they apparently did for dragon06). Did a transfer and it seemed to work fine. So far, this has been the only glitch for me. |

I wonder if I can concert my maximizer account I have with them that has a .05 balance. I had a maximizer acct with amboy and requested the new premiumsavings as well. I was told I needed to close out my maximizer acct(.63), and proceed with opening the new one.
I did that quite easily. I am now waiting for their two deposits to show up in the linked acct .Since I was already a customer, perhaps it will be easier.
I have found Amboy a pleasure to work with. |

Amboy is FAST! HSBC took a while to update how much Amboy deposited for the trial deposits, so by the time I got my trials, Amboy had already pulled my initial deposit from HSBC.
I found the routing number and linked Amboy to USAA. Initiated a push from USAA and the money was there that evening and it earned $.31 interest for the day!
I pulled money from HSBC into Amboy and that balance will be effective very soon, since it already shows up in the Amboy account.
All transfers were done at ~9:30 AM CST and all will seem to be complete by this evening, one day after. Not bad at all! |

I applied earlier this week and just verified my deposits via SeaMonkey (what was the old Mozilla suite). When I log in, I don’t get the menus like in IE, and even in IE, I don’t have the option to transfer funds like some others. When I refresh the page, and I get a message that my session has expired and I have to log in again. Gaah! If I have to use IE every time, and they can’t even set up my account correctly the first time, then it isn’t worth it. |

It's working fast and well. The account summary says Current Interest Rate is 4.65% now. Isn't it 4.75%? |
