Remember the AMEX bonus point thru invitation but you need to pay $10? Guess what: I did NOT sign up for that one!!!
Now, if you are like me, I present you:

We're Sorry. The account number entered is not eligible for this promotion as it is available only to those Cardmembers who were solicited. So it's a targeted offer, not available to everyone with a particular kind of AMEX card...

Slim chance it would work tried with an AMEX Blue -- both gold and green didn't work. Still green for OP. Thanks for the chance.

Worked for me, unlike those million targeted offers half of which cost $10.

These offers are why AMEX Gold is better than SPG. I think I Have had at least double points all year long.
