Did they ever have it on the chase site? I thought it was just a holdover from the first usa offerings. I've only seen it advertised in Sunday paper ads, which they just did last week, btw.
4% back on WAWA purchases. Now if only I can figure out what WAWA is???
I just want to have an excuse to say "Put it on my WAWA."
But then I'm not sure if it's pronounced waw-waw like a baby saying water, or a drawn out WAAAAW-WAAAW, like an uh-oh situation in various tv sitcoms, or the Ha-Ha like nelson on the simpsons. Decisions, Decisions... D8MN you chase for putting me in this predicament!!!

In modern terms a WaWa is the best convenience store ever. In southern NJ they are extremely prevalent, but they can also be found in Deleware, Pennsylvania and probably other states. The word WaWa is a Lenni Lenape (Native American tribe that originally inhabited the Deleware Valley) word that means 'crane', not that it really matters, and I'm sure most people who shop there don't even realize it. And it's pronounced "waw-waw like a baby saying water."

My guess is something new is coming down the pike, perhaps something like discoer's 5% card.
Wawa rocks. Get the Wawa card and buy $1000 worth of Wawa gift cards at 10% CashBack and get another $100 in Wawa gift cards for free. With gas at $3/gal it should be easy to use them up - especially since Wawa gift cards never expire.

Joe1690 posted this in the other chase 5% thread:
Chase has removed both the Chase Cash Plus and Rewards Plus cards from their website interestingly enough yet they still offer both cards. It appears that Chase is trying to have individual websites for their most lucrative cards instead. For instance the Chase Cash Plus card is now listed at www.chasecashback.com with the $50 signup bonus.
I find it hard to believe that Chase is already getting rid of Cash Plus completely and immediately. Just this Sunday they ran an ad in the manufacturer's coupon section of the paper.
We'll see when we actually start getting letters/emails ourselves... not forwards from other people.

I think we are all missing the point. It just hit me. They are changing the cash plus to MASTERCARD from VISA. Check the chasecashback.com site. This also makes sense for the OPs message from the CSR. So although the cash plus VISA is no longer available, the cash plus MASTERCARD is. Hopefully they will just switch our cards for us.

Actually since most wawa's now also sell gas you would be better with any 5% gas card. Wawa is like a high class 7-11 with gas (or BP, etc). I've used my Citi dividend card inside and still received the 5% rebate which is nice since they also sell gift cards for other stores.

It disappeared only 4 or 5 days ago. I was applying for cards 6 days ago and saw it still there.

I went to a stand-alone Wawa in Philadelphia a few months ago. I used my Citi Dvidended card and this was not counted as a gas/service station as the Wawa's with gas are. So in that situation, those who live in areas with lots of stand-alone Wawa's it could be useful.

Most 7-11's in Texas have gas. I used to live in CT and shop at Wa-Wa's so I know both chains.

I spoke to CSR at chase, he told me that they are not going to remove this 5% Cash Back for the existing customers, he told me that this card is no longer offered for new customers.

Any word on what will happen with Rewards Plus? Or is Rewards Plus replacing Cash Plus? (they kind of overlapped, anyway, with Rewards Plus offering many more options, higher annual Cash Back and points levels, etc.) But what's odd is you don't even see any Rewards Plus Cards on the Chase website now...
What's the worry? If that day comes, it'll come! You can just call Chase to have it switch to a mastercard. What is the big deal here? If they remove the 5% completely, I will switch and using my citi card instead. Besides no one really has received any official letter yet right?

There may be conversion problems. For example, Citi ostensibly can't convert the Dividend cards into MTVU cards because the Dividend card is a Mastercard product and the MTVU card is a Visa product.

I converted successfully converted my Citi Dividend MasterCard to a Citi MTVU VisaCard. I received a new account number, but the "member since YYYY" remained the same. Also, the date of opening the account remained the same on my credit report.

I view the CSR's comment as meaning they no longer have a chase cash plus VISA, but if you still want to convert your card to a visa, here are the remaining options. Everybody who has the card already has VISA, but the site I mentioned now shows it as MC.
<<Studies indicate that lower retail prices haven't materialized. Instead, retailers have mostly pocketed the savings, while Visa and other card companies have withdrawn the popular rebates and bonus awards while increasing the annual fees they charge to card holders.>>

i really don't think they are ended the 5% card all together. I just signed up for their 5% with $100 bonus today and the ad in the paper runs till May 15th. I dont remember if I signed up for a Mastercard or Visa.

Is there any reason you did not apply for another account for you or your wife and merely add your step-daughter as an authorized user? Authorized users gain all the credit history of that account.
