This may not meet some people's "minimum valued amount required to apply for a card" but I do not care, if you have no interest in this offer then go look at any one of the thousands of other posts on FatWallet. I posted this because I know at least one person might be applying, and I am sure they would enjoy an additional bonus when signing up.

Call 1.800.807.4293 or use this to apply for the Bank of America Power Rewards Card by July 1, 2006. Make one purchase, within 90 days you will receive instructions by mail for ordering your $25 gift card online or by phone. Gift cards are available for "hundreds of merchandisers including Blockbuster and The Home Depot."

In addition to the $25 gift card, this offer also comes with 500 bonus points after the first purchase and 0% on purchases and balance transfers for the first six months. Rate after the six months will be between 11.49% and 20.49% depending on your credit report.

If the golden 2% CashBack of PowerRewards still available to new card holders, then it's definitely a hot deal!
Otherwise, try Citi or Chase 's 5% everyday card with $50 or $100 bonus

Power rewards can be very enticing for big spenders. I don't believe the points expire. I believe the 2% mark is at $50k (you can cash in points for $1000 check).

The points will be expired in 5 years.

I've been meaning to get a BofA card for overdraft protection on my checking account. May as well make $25 in the process.

I don't see where it mentions the $25 gift card on the online application...

According to the most current online listing, the 50,000 point $1,000 credit is no longer listed.

The 50k point $1000 reward is still available. This was confirmed with a CSR earlier this month. I then applied and got accepted. In the catalog of rewards sent to me with the card was the 50k point reward bonus..

can you provide some more info on the 2% CashBack and 50k points/$1k rewards?
