This is one of the best credit card sign up premiums I have ever seen. I first noticed the offer when browsing the NY Jets web site on Draft Day. I applied online and received the credit card in a week. Due to the fact that you need to enter personal information, I was reluctant to post the deal until I was sure it was legit. Be prepared to wait. You need to make purchases or transfers totaling $100 on the card. Then after your first statement period ends, you have to wait 8-12 weeks for the Nano. So that's 3-4 months in all. They can substitute an item of equal or greater value, so let's hope that doesn't happen.
It hasn't been easy being a Jets fan (although I like the Giants too) but it is nice to see such a generous offer from MBNA and the Jets. Although you don't have to be a Jets fans to apply, your FW spirit has to be pretty strong if you're a Patriots fan to carry a Jets card
How about a little Jets green if you like the deal. Good luck and be careful not too over extend yourself on credit.
Great News!!! Received my Nano on 5/24/06. Much, much faster than expected. Didn't even get my first bill yet. I could hardly believe it.
Update 7/26/06 After a lengthy lull, people have been receiving Nanos since 7/21/06. Also, letters were received by some people indicating they would be receiving a Nano if they made a qualifying purchase or transfer and encouraged use of the card. If you get a letter, it does not mean that you haven't already qualified. I got the letter after I had received the Nano.
Update 6/20/06 A few people have reported receiving their Nanos the last few days. Those who have called are usually told it will take 6-10 weeks. Member named svenett, says he works for MBNA (now part of Bank of America) and has stated that those who qualified for the Nano should receive one.
To answer some of the questions that have arisen: The Nano being shipped is a 1GB black model, with a Jets logo engraved on the back. (Two people have reported theirs wasn't engraved.)
The Nanos are manufactured by Apple under a reseller program. You should received a sealed box, just like you'd get in a store.
The Part# PA353LL may be unique to this offer. I'm trying to determine this, but haven't reached a conclusion yet. You can find the Part# on the bottom of the box, or on the Nano itself by looking under Settings->About->Model.
Padded envelopes are being shipped from a Delaware address via UPS. You will NOT receive any tracking info.
Balance transfers DO count as qualifying transactions. Some have taken awhile to go through.
Offer Code is M0FB. The customer service phone number is 1-800-421-2110. If you call, ask the CSR to verify that you have qualified under the promo code M0FB.
I wouldn't carry this to the Jets-Patriot game if I root for the Patriots.

Same here with the no instant approval. I've gotten approved for everything else I've applied for recently, though not all instantly.
Also, anyone know of a deal on getting things un-engraved?

I got instant approval. Credit line of only $6100.00 though. I do have a credit score of 744 that my be why.

The guy I spoke with didn't know much about it. He said it would say on the site. If it only said for "qualifying transaction" then there shouldn't be a minium purchase, but that is just what he said.
Yeah well I figured it had to do with my app-a-rama this week. My fico is 810 but with all the cards I have applied for I can understand. Oh well, will just wait and see.

No instant approval, also applied for other cards recently, thanks OP for this super hot offer, Free iPod, 15 month 0% BT, and another card to use with the best Bill Pay system anywhere.
Had some technical difficulties when I tried to apply.
Second shot, the application went through, though no instant decision. I have fairly high FICO and haven't applied for any other cards recently. Will wait patiently.

Huh, it seems all the teams have radically different promotions and terms (when you apply through the team sites).
Denver Broncos gets you an autographed football (and 12mo 0% w/ fee cap). SD Chargers gets you a replica jersey GB Packers gets a sign print or a Brett Favre book. Houston Texas has a variety of stuff (jersey, autograph, $50 sporting good gift card) and no cap on their BT fee.
Yes, and I noticed last night that if you go through MBNA's site rather than the nfl sites that the promos are only in the $25 gc range. Definitely not as attractive. Here are some I found by going directly to the team sites. Nothing as attractive as a nano.

What do you ask the CSR? I called and was told by a confused person that since I applied today that it was probably too early to get a response.
If there was a way to get rid of the engraving ....

You probably pressed 1,2,or 0.
You need to specifically press "3" when they start telling you the menu options.
If you are not approved instantly (neither was I), you can call 1-800-932-2775 and select option 3 to hear the status of your application. You don't have to wait for a CSR, but you have to answer some prompts. I called about 4 days after I applied and the automated system told me that I was approved and to expect my card within 10 days.
Don't get too worried if you're calling only hours after you submit an application and don't have approval yet. Just call again in a couple of days. I was concerned because there was no field for an email address and I wanted to make sure they had my info.

The rules for qualifying purchases state that purchases, BTs, and cash advances count towards the $100 promotional spending requirement.
Does anyone know if balance transfers submitted with the application count??? Or does it have to be done after the card is received and activated?
I did a balance transfer of $100(+$10fee) with the application. I hope it counts! So this ipod is only costing me $10!!
