That's pretty cool. I would like to highlight one thing from the terms:

Direct deposit can be from an employer or governmental source and must be directed into your eChecking account at Meadows. PayPal, CashEdge and other non-employment direct transfers do not qualify.

Even then, it's not a bad promo... I wonder how flexible my company's payroll department is?

Any credit pull for the account?

alert mods

It's a good question - we'll need to find out. So far the only bank that did a credit pull when I was opening an account, was the Citibank.

Do you know if we will get first order of check for free?I can't find it anywhere on their website. Thanks.

Anyone know if there is a min balance on this account?

alert mods

Looks like the minimum is $2,500:
rate APY min. balance
0.65% 0.65% $2,500 .

alert mods

For me the loss in interest would negate a lot of the $125 bonus.

alert mods

Well, $125 on $2,500 is 1-year APY of 5%. You have to keep account open for probably 5 to 6 months...

I think $2500 min is to earn interest, otherwise there is no minimum requiurement to avoid fee - you just need DD.

Also see the following quote:
eChecking is not your momma’s checking account. eChecking is for you – wired, always connected, always convenient no matter where your day takes you. We start with free checking with direct deposit, add thousands of free ATMs, interest for higher balances, and load on the extras so you can use it how you want to - and make your life, well, your life

I have this account for about 2 years now and there is no minimum balance requirement, but of course things could've changed so call to make sure.

If there is no min balance it may be worth it.

too bad. was looking forward to it.

Has anyone been rejected for being out of state? That would make the description of the field of membership pretty misleading.

The IL residents only is newly added. I have a screenshot of the terms from before it was there. I can post it if someone is willing to host it. For me it is not worth arguing about so I am not going to pursue it but if anyone wants it I am happy to oblige

Anyone know what the minimum direct deposit you need for Meadows is?
