On another note, is there a way to pay our "new" BoA credit card from an external account on their site or do we have to push future payments from an outside source? You can pay any BofA card from an external account by going to https://www.myeasypayment.com/. However, you can only schedule immediate payments (not future payments) there. |

The phone is 800-887-5749, option #2. Just talked to an associate. He said BOA knows what's happening and heard all the complaints. Well, he could not give me any defined date when the bill pay choice would come back, but he said "give us a chance", meaning they are working on migrating bill pay choice feature back in some way. Finally he told me he was also a LLBean card user, so he was going through the same as us. I'll wait for another billing cycle to see what would happen. At that stage, it's time to say "thanks" or "goodbye". |

Yes, Bill Pay Choice is back up and running for me, too; surprising, but certainly welcome. |

djspray said:Dang it. I haven't used my Fidelity 2% for a purchase in over 6 months, only been using Billpay. I made two purchases this month, one to Buy.com and one for a conference registration (both supposedly secure sites). Suddenly, there were fraudulent charges showing up a week later. Arrrgh. They have to cancel the card, but claim that everything will remain the same, including the Billpay. If the card they send me doesn't work with Billpay Choice, I'm going to be pissed. Anyone have experience with this? Crisis averted. The new card arrived today, and I logged in to find the new account was active already. All my Billpay account information remained, and the payments scheduled on the last card even posted. Whew. |

Wow, I thought it was 'confirmed' that it was going away. Oh wait, there I go trolling again. |

I actually had another card appear into billpay all of a sudden. Only unusual thing I have done recently is request a CLI. |

You must be one of those "stay the course" people huh? Never adapt to changing situations? How's that working out for ya? Or are you likely just trolling (again). |

did anyone else that just had billpay restored get charged a $10 "WELCOME VISA UPGRADE" fee? I just noticed that was posted to my account the day before billpay re-appeared, and I have had no other activity on the account. |

Just called 800-887-5749, option #2 and was told that Bill Pay Choice IS being phased out and that I would no longer be able to pay outside merchants using credit card, only checking. Then, as an afterthought almost, she told me to sign out from my account and go to this page... Pay Bills with Visa From there, you can select outside merchants with "Billeo". VERY limited selection though. Anyone else getting this? or have experience with Billeo? I only found this brief thread about Billeo. |

At least, as of last week I can no longer access it from my account, and the rep person told me it was finished. Maybe another rep will have different explanation. Or perhaps it all depends on which card you have. |

Strange, the csr I talked to about restoring billpay choice told me they are looking at possibly adding this feature to other cards. He said he also uses it himself. Who knows... I am just happy to have it back for the time being. |

Pay Bills with Visa All that web site does is take you to a list of companies that already accept Visa. Then if you click on one of the companies, it takes you to the company's web site so you can pay your bill there. It's totally useless unless you were doing business with a company that you didn't realize accepted Visa. It's not like Billpay Choice that lets you pay bills from companies that don't normally accept Visa from the general public (for example, paying other banks' credit cards). |

I just noticed one change regarding a "loophole". I believe it was once possible to enter a Bank of America credit card number under pay a Bank of America loan and it would be paid from another MBNA or BOA credit card. This no longer appears possible with the computer saying the loan number is not in the right format. A BOA consumer loan (a credit card) that was already in the system now can only be paid via a bank account. While it appears this once worked (by a test payment), I had hesitated to actually use it since on manual review it might raise problems. I had however been settingup such payments as a safety measure (it would get the bill paid if I failed to pay the bill from a bank account), and then canceling the payment before it was actually made (but after I had paid the bill from a bank account). This no longer appears possible for at least my Fidelity card. A scheduled for BOA consumer loans to this card number from my bank account still appears scheduled and the bank of payment can be changed, but the source of payment cannot be changed to a ex MBNA credit card. Looking at scheduled payments for a card it now shows both those scheduled for the creditc card and those for the BOA Consumer loans for the same number. I suspect someone my have replaced the payment from credit card account by one from my preferred bank account since BOA Consumer loans with that number does not show up now under the list of payees possible, but it did under scheduled payments and I do not recall having sceduled this one from my bank account. As a safety measure I deleted this payment to BOA consumer loans (and will make a separate payment). The computer appears willing to accept a payment to BOA Consumer Loans for another ex-MBNA card to be made from another card, I am reluctant to enter it (even as a back up) given the risk of it being changed or not going through (and possibly triggering a manual review). |
