Probably everyone already knows the answer: does ACH deposit count as direct deposit? |

you can apply for regular checking with more than $100.00 I opened using $1000.00(using credit card, verified online chat with rep that it will be a purchase and not a cash advance). However regular savings is only $100.00 initially, once you have both open, you can transfer $200.00 to savings so that you have atleast $750.00 in checking and $300 in savings to avoid their monthly fees.
Hope this helps. |

Already a BoA customer. Used the express application. There was no mention of check card and online agent said this is fine, that I would get the money so long as the promo code was used. He said the default option for the express application is for it to be linked to current checking account, so all is well. |

Will they still do a hard pull if you already have a mortgage with them? Thanks.

Is this true? If so, I may as well put more money using credit card and get some mileage. Can anyone else confirm this? What is the upper limit here - 1000 ?

I don't know about BofA but I know someone who did this to fund his trading account, forex that is. They allow him to add up to $5,000 per month. |

I would be careful with this promo. I did a online chat with BofA CSR and was told that this promo code is valid for existing customers who received a mailer from the bank. They did not say what the criteria was for the mailing list(account wise) but I would want some assurance that they would honor the code before I would commit the funds! |

Definitely hard pull last time I applied for a checking account with BoA. I was not a current customer. |

Can we get a scan of the mailing? I'm wondering what the timing is for the bonus deposit. (and also if the deal expires)
Be careful about the length it takes to get the cash. A savings with <$300 will get dinged with a monthly fee unless you transfer in money from savings. A EZ checking will get dinged with a fee w/o direct deposit.
... but hell, I just opened up a checking and savings for the cash.. maybe I should open two more? |

From my experience of opening 6+ BoA accounts for $50 its always been 60 days. But then they always mention in the details that every household can avail it for once in 60 days.
For this offer it is no where mentioned about the number of days. I came to know from the online CSR. The link does not mention any details.
Also from what i have done in the past and from my understanding a direct deposit for the checking account and an automatic monthly transfer of $25 from the checking account to the savings account is enough to wipe out all the fees. But I do know that they will charge a penalty fees for closing any account before 6 months or 180 days.
Cheers
