I just opened a myaccess checking and regular savings account on Bank of America. To get the $125 you have to open BOTH accounts. The offer code is Thz3.

whats the deal? i just opened one myacess checking for $50 promo

Any idea of this is valid for existing customers?

This is what i got after talk to an online advisor.

"Get $100 when you open any new, personal checking account with a Bank of America VisaŽ Check card. Get an additional $25 when you open any new, personal savings account at the same time online, for a total of $125, deposited directly into your new checking account.1 Because you are an existing Bank of America customer, you can save time by adding your new checking and savings account using our online express application"

"There is no set exp. date for the Thz1"

"I am not aware of a Thz3. That code might be for the banking centers. Thz1 is valid for online"

Also you can only apply after 90 days of using another offer code.

Good Luck

I dont see any mention there about a fee if you close your account after x days. Which I looked there before so thats why I asked.

Unless i missed it :/

Minimum balance to begin is 25? or is it 25x2?

EDIT: nevermind seems to have fees unless you're active w/ the account (direct deposit etc.)

How to? or Link?
Thank you

No, you didn't miss it. The schedule of fees that I saved, dated March 2005, stated a $25 closure fee if before 180 days. It seems it was removed on the linked version, dated December 2005.

Do they "hard pull" your credit report??

I got a hard pull on Experian.

Where do you find one can only apply for this after 90 days of using another offer code? I just applied for a checking account using $50 promotion and would like to know when I can apply for this promotion again.

It has always been after 60 days. Has the terms changed?

Nice find, OP. In for $125 [crosses fingers]

Is this offer targeted to BOA existing customer? New customer seemed not qualified.

Open regular checking fund with $750.00
Open regular savings fund with $300.00

Wait for the $125.00 promotion credit and close? Any other catch? Did anyone fund using a credit card? Last year I used Citi Dividend Platinum and it was treated as a purchase.

Probably everyone already knows the answer: does ACH deposit count as direct deposit?

I actually could not open both of them with amount > $100

What do I do now ? Initiate another transfer ?

you can apply for regular checking with more than $100.00 I opened using $1000.00(using credit card, verified online chat with rep that it will be a purchase and not a cash advance). However regular savings is only $100.00 initially, once you have both open, you can transfer $200.00 to savings so that you have atleast $750.00 in checking and $300 in savings to avoid their monthly fees.

Hope this helps.

Already a BoA customer. Used the express application. There was no mention of check card and online agent said this is fine, that I would get the money so long as the promo code was used. He said the default option for the express application is for it to be linked to current checking account, so all is well.

Will they still do a hard pull if you already have a mortgage with them? Thanks.

Is this true? If so, I may as well put more money using credit card and get some mileage. Can anyone else confirm this? What is the upper limit here - 1000 ?

I don't know about BofA but I know someone who did this to fund his trading account, forex that is. They allow him to add up to $5,000 per month.

Can this be combined with keep the change?

I would be careful with this promo. I did a online chat with BofA CSR and was told that this promo code is valid for existing customers who received a mailer from the bank. They did not say what the criteria was for the mailing list(account wise) but I would want some assurance that they would honor the code before I would commit the funds!

I asked the guy in an online chat. Here is what she said
---
You: is that classified as a "hard pull" i.e. does it reduce my credit score?
Alexei : It is a 'soft' check.
---

Definitely hard pull last time I applied for a checking account with BoA. I was not a current customer.

Can we get a scan of the mailing? I'm wondering what the timing is for the bonus deposit. (and also if the deal expires)

Be careful about the length it takes to get the cash. A savings with <$300 will get dinged with a monthly fee unless you transfer in money from savings. A EZ checking will get dinged with a fee w/o direct deposit.

... but hell, I just opened up a checking and savings for the cash.. maybe I should open two more?

Will give it a try.

From my experience of opening 6+ BoA accounts for $50 its always been 60 days. But then they always mention in the details that every household can avail it for once in 60 days.

For this offer it is no where mentioned about the number of days. I came to know from the online CSR. The link does not mention any details.

Also from what i have done in the past and from my understanding a direct deposit for the checking account and an automatic monthly transfer of $25 from the checking account to the savings account is enough to wipe out all the fees. But I do know that they will charge a penalty fees for closing any account before 6 months or 180 days.

Cheers

By accident I applied twice since the first time it screwed up my info. Im suppose to call in the morning to cancel the 1st acct. is there anyway to keep the 2 and get 2x the bonus?

Will myaccess checking work??
The offer states regular checking account.

thx op. just open another checking account and saving with bofa as existing customer.
it is much better deal than regular $50 bonus for openning new checking account.

the offer states "any new, personal checking account". not regular checking account. any checking account will work.
