abaliga said:How long does it take for the funds to show up on your accounts? I funded like 4 days ago, and even though funds are withdrawn from my other bank, it still not showing up on NetBank. I read on epinions about their bad sitting on your money practices. Anyone experiencing the same?
They are a bit slow, yeah. 5 days maybe? I did this promotion from last August to February. Easy $150 (just did checking and money market) for $1500 tied up for 6 months. That's like...20% APY! (ish?)
I closed the account in February and didn't get charged anything. Too bad I can't do it again, or I would. |

i just got my netbank welcome package in the mail today. when i was looking at the fee description insert, i noticed this: "Checking Account inactivity...No charge if average monthly balance is $3,000 or greater. $3.00 per month after 3 successive months of inactivity on accounts with an average monthly balance less than $3,000." i guess we can transfer $1 between the money market and the checking to keep the account "active". |

Wow, I just got my checking and MM signup bonuses. 33 days after funding each account. I was pretty darn impressed by the promptness.
I am now going to immediately drop each account to the minimum
BTW, that thing about the inactivity fee is for bill pay. Easy solution is to just not use bill pay. And not get paper statements, they charge for those too. |

Not true regarding the inactivity fee limited to BillPay. I was charged an inactivity fee for a second checking account that I infrequently use. I called the CSR and was told that the fee was charge because I did not have any activity in the account. She did not mention the BillPay only limitation. The CSR advised and I promptly converted the account to a money market account which does not have the inactivity restriction. |

Cripes, you're right. I'll have to remember to fake some activity in a couple of months. |

I know you're saying it's not true what was said about BillPay - but really their terms didn't mention OTHER inactivity fees so I think that CSR was a little unfair with you....
To be safe, I'll move some money in and out I guess..
Is there a fee for bank to bank transfer for the online checking/savings accounts? (I ask because I thought there was a $3 fee for outbound bank transfers from HSBC account and it turned out, when I looked online and then confirmed with a CSR, that there was NO fee on the ONLINE savings account).... |

CAn anyone here help me figure out why Netbank will not link to my Bank of America Account. Netbank says the name and passcode do not match at Bank of America. I set up one account already with another bank and it works fine. Thanks in advance. (Bank of America gives all kinds of info for setting it up to link with MS Money etc. so you'd think I'd be able to do it.) |

Answer to my own question - I am waiting for netbank to get back to me. In the meantime I added BOA and Netbank to paypay and will have to transfer from netbank to paypal then to BOA. |

But you get an interest credit every month on the checking account anyway. And interest credit would be "An activity" happening on the account????

That's a good point, but they could consider activity to be "customer-initiated" activity.
To give an extreme example, if your account is inactive for 3-5 years, they will still turn over your funds to the state controller's office, even if they've been paying interest.
However, for charging the fee purposes, it would really be up to NetBank if they counted interest. I wonder what they'd do. |

In that case, why not "Withdraw" that interest or move it over to the Money Market. |

Netbank seems to be holding my initial deposits a total of 9 business days - that means I can't do bill pay or transfer or anything for about 2 weeks from the receipt of the checks...this is taking forever to get set up. |

Opened the checking and the 15k CD; expected 100$ + 75$; got a single $25 card (with no explanation except "Welcome to Netbank") Sent an email to CS; no reply yet.
To add to my frustration - I'm now seeing weird javascript errors with their website. When I click on the "bank mail" or "account details" links; I get an a javascript error icon; and nothing happens. Have tried several different machines; and a few browsers. |

Update: customer service indicated they might have made mistake; $100 would been sent after 30 days of opening account. They cancel the $25.00 card. Should have not called, could have had $125.00 total. |
