I first received an email saying I'd get 75 for the checking and 25 for the CD Replied back with the link to their own promotion page; and they replied indicating I'd get 100 for the CD. No mention of what they plan to do with the $25 card - I haven't activated it yet.
On the plus side, my javascipt errors on the website stopped today. |

Is adding an HSBC account and then transferring out the money from Netbank to the HSBC account taken as an ACH Withdrawal from Netbank??? It SHOULD .. but I'm not sure ... IF it is an ACH transaction then it's free so that's a quick and easy way to move the money around ..
Please let me know if anyone on here knows |

Got both my Checking and Money Market bonuses today. It was a smooth process, exactly 33 days after my deposit. |

I checked last night and I had received both of my 75 dollar bonuses ... So I went to my HSBC account, added my netbank accounts, and set up the transfer into HSBC (will take 3 business days) ... I transferred a little over $1140 total from both accounts ... Pretty easy - only thing that sucked was that NetBank would not initiate the ACH push out of my NetBank accounts even though I added the HSBC account to my profile ... Kinda lame, if you ask me ... But it doesn't matter - 5 months from now I will have nothing to do with NetBank anyway ... I will have about 8-9 bucks in checking and 500 bucks in MM savings after the transfers go through - these are the numbers I'm keeping in there now until I close it out - so I get my entire amount in a check about 6 months from now ... |

In case any of you did not open the money market for the additional $75 bonus - here is what I plan - as soon as my 500 minimum month is up for the checking account I am going to move 570 into a money market and fund an additional 431 so I have a 1000 minimum and then I will get the additional $75 I think. According to the fine print you have up to six months to use this promotion from the time of opening your original account. Anyone see any problems with this? I am leaving $50.00 in checking so I can do some small bill pays to AMEX once every two months for 6 months. TYA |

Those rebates were only $70 per account, not $75. |

Trying to apply for the money market - already have checking - here's the email I got - does this mean anything bad? Thank you for your recent application for a NetBank personal banking account. We are unable to open your account at this time until we receive additional information. You can expect to receive in the next few business days a letter specifying the additional items needed. Once you return those items to us, we'll be able to complete the application process.
In the mean time, please don't hesitate to call us at 1-888-BKONWEB (256-6932). We're here to answer your questions whenever it's convenient for you, 24/7.
Sincerely, |

I opened the accounts last week and now I am having very bad time in adding external accounts. You cannot add Bank of America as BoA has introduced sitekey for their web site. Netbank is working on resolving the issue. I tried to add ING Direct savings account, it gave me an error asking to enter the routing in the original format (that you can see on cheque). But my ING direct account is not a checking account and I do not have any cheques. This is the first time ever in my life seeing some one who is bothered about the format of the routing number. Even their website looks very unsecure. When you click "View Application Status", the SSN box stores your ssn on the system you are working. Even if you clear cache and offline pages, it won't go away. You come back after 2 days and double click on the text box, still it will show the SSN. Everytime you call the bank, you have to give the complete SSN to the CSR. That means the CSR can see your full SSN. If there is any CSR with malicious intentions, you may be in trouble. This is not the case with many banks.. All other banks I dealt with, ask only for last 4 digits. I will definitely close my account immediately after 6 months. |

Probably just Patriot Act stuff. You'll likely get a letter asking you to mail fax something like a copy of your DL or a utility bill to verify address, etc. |

Can anyone confirm transferring small amount from checking to money market after 3 months considered a activity to keep the account active and avoid the inactivity fee?? Or do I need to mail them a check??

Got the bonus...thank you Mr. OP.
PITA setting up an account...Netbank requires many forms of ID; e.g., a utility bill, a W-9 form, and a notarized affidavit of domicile among other things.
To fund the account, I first attempted to use their ACH service: apparently their database didn't have an ABA link to my mom-and-pop bank, Citibank. Customer service was generally unhelpful after numerous tries.
So instead, I was forced to use Quickpost (their next-day UPS service), which worked without a hitch.
Put $1000 in savings/$500 in checking for a month, withdrew to $500.01/.01 after that, and waited thirty days for the bonuses.
It didn't come...so I called customer service (twice), they put in a claim to their marketing department (twice), and I finally got the monies a week later. |

Has anyone double dipped with Netbank over their several promotions (ie. Hilton, Drugstore.com, Marriott)? |

Sorry to hijack the thread but as a current NetBank customer I would highly recommend people stay away from this company now. They are experiencing significant financial difficulty. They haven't made a profit in several quarters, have just announced that they are handing over their mortgages to another company without compensation, have closed their Financial Technology Unit which provided the QuickPost service and are considering selling their ATM network by the end of this year. If you want to read about all of their problems their ticker symbol is NTBk. While they may be FDIC insured, I would much rather open an account and deal with a financial institution that is on stable feet. I have been a customer for 3.5 years and was very satisfied with their customer service until recently. My guess is that they will probably be out of business in 6 months - 1 year. They had some innovative ideas and products but apparently couldn't properly execute them. |

This question relates to the CD portion.
Couldn't you fund the 1 year CD with 15,000, get the $100, and then break the CD? From their site: "The penalty fee will equal one-half of the interest earned from the commencement of the current term of the Certificate of Deposit until the day of early withdrawal, with a minimum early withdrawal fee of $25."
So, a 15,000 one year CD earning 5.30 APY, would earn around 66 dollars after one month. Half of that is forfeited, so you would end up with $33 and a $100 gift card. That equals out to around a 10% return.
What do you think? |

I looked at their terms on the promotion site, and there is no mentioning of 1 reward per account per household. So does it mean that both me and my spouse can take advantage of the checking and MM rewards, creating $75x2x2 bonus? |
