You can apply there and get the same offer when calling them.
Just curious.. when you apply for the card and do the verification, is it a machine or actual human? |

Update on my Chase deal _______________________
As I promised, I am updating my dealings with Chase CC. They promised me 0% BT with 0 transaction fee for 12 months and when the deal came it was different. After writing to them and threatning legal action, they immediately called me and gave me the rate they promised earlier on. I was however hoping that they deny so that I can take them to court and get some punitive damages etc. but anyway, I got what I wanted.
I think the consumers words are more accepted by courts, inspite I could not have proven what Chase told me over the phone, but the circumstances which led me to this offer ( namely a competitor was offering the same rate and when I wanted to cancel by Chase card, the rep matched the competitor's offer) was leaning the case more towards me.
So, bottomline is if you are offered some deal by anyone representing the company, you can get that deal without losing grounds. |

As usual, the final activation has an operator come on the line and attempt to have you do a balance transfer immediately and sign up for the card protection plan. |

For some reason, Citibank gave me a 0% BT with 0 transaction fee till 4/1/2003 not till 6/1
Also, the website http://www.citibank.com/us/cards/cardserv/divplat/index.htminfo is contradictory :
front page says " 0%APR for 12 months on BT, no BT fee"
Terms and conditions says "Balance transfer APR of 0% for 9 months from the date of the first balance transfer.Transaction Fee for Balance Transfers: 3.0% of the amount of each balance transfer, but not less than $5 or more than $50." |

I also asked how to have the limit increased, and Citibank rep said to transfer balance, pay minimum for six months, at which time Citibank will automatically review the account for increase, or I can call in. |

Mike89, that is incorrect, request to speak to a supervisor, say that your friends have done so. Or you may get a more informed CSR next time you call. But I recently transferred my line of credit from my Sonycard to recently opened Citi Div plat card. |

Is there a phone number for the Chase 12-month offer? I have a mailing but I prefer to call and do it on the phone. I didn't see a phone number in the threads... |

OK, I applied and got my Citi Dividend Platenum Select card with the 0% BT for 12 months. They gave me a credit line of $4200. I have another Citi card with higher credit line with no balance owing. Should I try to move some of that credit to the new card to maximize the 0% BT? Anything else I should know before I activate the card today?
Thanks for the great info.

That should do it Pat. It might take a call or two, but eventually you should be able to get it done. Best of luck, and congrats on your new line. |

Alas, this isn't the famous 2% rewards card, only the std card. But thanks for the heads up, DWooley. |

Thanks Dave, I missed that. Guess applying for regular card and converting it to platinum after 3 months would not pass a hassle factor either. |
