I am sorry but it looks like $200 for me. How did you come up with $50 ??? What state you are in ??? I am in Florida.

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm in Oregon and it says $100 for a personal account and $100 for a business account.

Just quickly checking, California has the $50 student checking going while Arizona has the $200 thing. So YMMV

CA here too. It also appears to be only for students too. Why don't people add their state offers with requirements in the quick summary?

This is why it is important to include more information in the topic than just a link.

It sounds like this offer is significantly different in each state.

New Jersey here: $100 for business checking and $100 for personal. $200 total

It looks like that only California gets $50. All other states $200.

OK, I've clicked on each state and these are the results:
California, Idaho and Washington gets $50.
All other states $200.

Sorry for the confusion.

Same in GA.

Looks like the deal is for existing customers?

"Thank you for being a valued Bank of America customer."

When i select OHIO it says 100 for personal and 100 for business. Its 200 only if u open both the accounts

Does anyone know if we can withdraw the initial balance and just keep the account open?

From the fine print
A personal Advantage checking account requires a minimum opening balance of $100 and paid a variable annual percentage yield (APY) of 0.10% (0.20% in Metro NY) as of 3/20/06. A MyAccess checking account requires a minimum opening balance of $25. Fees may reduce earnings.

Monthly maintenance fees will be waived on your small business checking account for the period in which your Bank of America AdvantageŽ Account remains open, and will be reinstated should your personal Advantage Account be closed for any reason...
Monthly maintenance fees will be waived on your small business checking account for a period of two years as long as your Bank of America personal checking account remains open, and will be reinstated should your personal checking account be closed for any reason.
The owner to receive this offer is the first business owner listed in the application.
There is a monthly fee for Online Business Suite of $15.00

Thanks op

FYI - The Business Economy Checking has a $100 inital deposit requirement.

I applied for the previous Myaccess checking $100 sign up bonus (offer code Thz3 Here)

I have opened and funded that account and setup Direct Deposit.

I am in the process of opening a Business Economy Checking account and another MyAcess checking account (on top of the one I just opened in response to the other offer).

I have no reason to believe this won't work. We'll see.

Dan

Do I need to have a business ID number or Tax ID to apply for the business checking?...

jomarrod said: Do I need to have a business ID number or Tax ID to apply for the business checking?...

No, I successfully applied and used my SSN for the tax id field. The rep called the next day to ask a few routine questions about it, but she didn't say there was any problem with it.

is anyone else concerned about the extent of the personal information that they are requiring for this? I'm already an BOFA customer, but wondering if that's worth $200.

also, any evidence to anyone that this is a phishing scheme? - for example the website of this application is:

https://bankofamerica.smallbusiness.capitalstream.com.

it's seems legit to me, but just wanted to be sure?

If you used your SSN, Are you liable for taxes and stuff at the end of the year?.... The main idea is to have a business name for eb@y, you know.

The link is 100% legitimate. That's the offer I am getting when I log into secure bankofamerica.com site.

How long I should keep the accounts?

I am only interested in $200, not its service.

Any idea?

can anyone tell me about what is the deal with ny

Any existing BOA banking customers can confirm if its going to be a hard/soft pull for opening new account with this offer? I had applied for a simillar offer last year and it was only a soft pull.

What is the restriction on cancelling the account.

Thanks
PD

I would like to know the answer to that, too!

Do any of you guys do any research into these offers?

Did you look at the form?

Is there and asterisk (*) that says required next to that field?

Did you call Cust Service to ask if its required, even though the form says it is?

There is nothing like doing you Due Diligence, and you are not doing it in the least....

Minoritydan,

Check your grammatical spellings before you criticize. Did you learn good grammar in school? Did you reread your message before posting? Apparently not.

Can we still get this offer if we already used the Thz3 offer?

What is a grammatical spelling? Sorry I didn't have time to look that one up.

But, since you are inquiring, I was a Math Major.

Good thing Finance favors the Math Brain. Anything else to contribute, or do you want to know if you can do this in conjunction with the Thz3 offer?

Really, is it that hard to find out the facts for yourself on these offers? If you don't what happens is we wind up with 100+ page threads that are impossible to navigate. Just look at the Emigrant thread for example. Most of the questions have been posted and answered many many times.

Just do your research, and document what you did when you applied. Maybe others will read it...

makeinu said: Can we still get this offer if we already used the Thz3 offer?

I stated above that I applied for the Thz3 offer and then applied for both of these accounts in ADDITION to the thz3 offer.

So...

$100 MyAcess Thz3
$100 MyAcess (This promo)
$100 Business ... (This promo)

If they work, I will let you know. The worst that can happen? I won't get the $300.

It looks like this offer is available online only to US Citizens or Green card holders. It says contact your local BOA branch to apply otherwise.

When I called my local bank they said they dont have any promotions going on. Did anyone else get into this situation?

RED. You need to put "Except CA, ID and WA" in your title.

i have this question: during the express application process we cannot choose or decline to receive checks. what happens if they sent us checks and then charged us for that (debited the account) even though we do not need checks anyways???

If i already have a savings and checkings account how would i go about this? Anybody with a current account apply for the offer and how so?

Just let them know and they will refund the charge.

I call the rep and she mentioned this offer is for new small-business customers. It seems they may need proof of business. Becuase I don't have a small-business I am not sure what kind of proof they may ask for.

Thanks.

I'm getting ready to call and close out my current BoA free checking account because i dont need it with all the other checking accounts i have and its just something i have to remember to make an ACH transfer into monthly so i dont get hit with fees. After i cancel am i able to sign up for new promos like this for a new account?

Skipping 25 Messages...

After about 3 or 4 e-mails and a research request, the check finally arrived last Saturday. Now on to the next offer...
