just an update derlor...don't know if you tried calling the NEA itself directly yet, but i was doing a bunch of e-mailing today, and put in an inquiry to NEA about this...here is their answer: (pasted from the e-mail response)....
I am sorry; NEA Benefits are available to NEA Members and their immediate family, which includes spouse and children.
NEA Member Benefits
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The example i gave was this: i stated that my brother is a teacher and is a member of the NEA and i am not a teacher and not a member of the nea...would i qualify to take advantage of the NEA member benefit programs, such as the Bank of America NEA Affinity products? The answer they gave i have pasted in above....
Unfortunately, sounds like you don't qualify.....those of you who have gotten NEA accounts because of a brother or sister being a teacher and in the NEA might want to double check, but sounds like you really do not qualify for the NEA accounts.
Hope this helps. derlor...you might want to still phone them and double check...but i'd suggest you call NEA member service's directly for an accurate answer....even the BOA Affinity CSR may give you the wrong answer on this one....and i am sure you want to make sure you are really qualified for this account.... |
