I just opened a new My Access checking with saving accounts. The offer code is 100MYA. I went to mbna.com to check on credit cards they offer and there was an add for this offer.

Does BOA have any fees on these accounts? They switched my student account to a big boy account and there were fees for not maintaining a min.

$5.95 fee if you dont maintain direct deposit. You can get around this by transfering funds from Paypal, ING, HSBC, etc into your BofA account.

Search the forum for more detail.

Why not get $125 for the same thing?

I think the $125 offer requires a minimum of 750 in savings. This one is solely checking and only requires DD.

All the savings account requires is $300 or a $25 transfer/month from checking to avoid fees.

So DD $25/month into checking, transfer it into savings, and transfer it right back out if you wish. No fees at all.

Sort of a hassle to do every month for a measly $25.

You can also get $200 if you sign up for a personal and business checking account both. There is a link to the offer posted in another thread here.

Do you know at what page (or link) you saw the ad? It would be nice to know the T&C. I can't find the ad at www.mbna.com

Mine was treated as a purchase with Citi

Nevermind. I see the BoA link now. My NIS blocked the link from FW page.

i really dont know alot about banking so let me ask something, if I already have an acount with BOfA and with this link make a second acount, would there be any problems for me later? fees or them just not letting me or etc?

anyone?

You can have more than one checking account. As long as you meet each accounts' requirements, there are no other fees.

if I do a walk in will they still accept this?

I think that $125 offer is for existing BOA customer only. It requires "Your account number(s) of existing Bank of America account(s)".

Anyone have an idea how long it takes before you receive your "e-mail welcome kit" from BOA?

I gotta stop doing these things, it's simple greed...

whats the minimum initial direct deposit?

I don't remember seeing anything in regard to that during the application process. I dumped in 500 for no particular reason. Lowball em and see what they come back with.

Wow thats a useless post. Lets see some red.

Edit: (My post, in case that wasn't obvious)

I think you can. I used a print out of the THZ1 promotion and walked into the branch to have my account opened. The branch manager called it in to make sure that she could give me the offer.

$25 opening deposit. Doesn't have to be direct deposit.

Here's my problem so far with BOA - it costs $8 to get checks and I don't want any anyway. My direct deposit payer says they need a blank check with void written on it to get direct deposit from them. I hope to try to talk the DD payer into a deposit slip which apparantly comes free in the welcome package. If this fails I will have to try to use my netbank account to do a "phony" direct deposit for the same amount. Anybody have any suggestions - I am doing this BOA thing strickly for the promo so don't want to spend too much time at it. I assume I can get the money out at the end of 6 months cost free and still keep the free 100 bucks (promo code 100MYA). TIA

Kram - the CSR told me 5 to 7 business days for the welcome packet. I got my debit card in about 4 days but so far no welcome packet.

Got my debit card in the mail today.

How to fund the initial $25? I have problem with the online transfer when applying, but choose the option for "fund later". But how to fund it later? No welcome kit yet.

I received my debit card, and in a separate mailing, my pin number. With these two I was able to set up my online account and view my checking account number online. I called the general info number and eventually got through to a helpful (What the heck?) CSR who told me my routing number and also that my account was initiated in Virginia.

No welcome kit but apparently you don't need it.

My only hang-up was that I had to reset my passcode, but again, all you need to do this is the debit card number and the pin.

CAn someone help? I can not get my Netbank account to link to my BOA new account and don't know why - the passcode and online name for BOA are not recognized by Netbank. Anyone else had this problem. Would really appreciate a response as I am trying to set up a "phony" Direct Deposit to BOA. THanks

I successfully confirmed my BOA checking with Paypal and Yodlee was able to add my account. Are you able to log in directly yourself from the front page of BOA? Although I set up a username and password when I initiated the account online, my actual user ID ended up being my SS# and I had to reset the passcode by using my debit card and pin #.

So far the only time I've used the username and passcode I intially set up during the sign up process was to access a PDF document that I needed to sign and mail to BOA.

I'm really quite surprised at how disconnected this whole process has been. I'd be really surprised if anyone with limited understanding of computers or online banking would be able to have figured this all out. Then again they probably wouldn't be signing up for online bank accounts promo's in the first place.

I tried SS no and pin; i tried my assigned user name and pin; my assigned user name and password and I went to the BOA site and changed both my user name and passcode. I was able to log on just find with the user name they assigned me but unable to link from netbank. I even waited a day and tried again and now I will wait yet another day and try with the new username and passcode. This has been soooo complicated and so far I have not managed to get in at all via netbank. There's gotta be some trick but don't know what it is. I emailed them; I also emailed netbank - we'll see if either of them come up with a solution.

Kram - I forgot - that's how I too changed my passcode- with debit card and pin; then I changed my username at a customer service link on BOA. This is really frustrating.

Kram again sorry! Which Bank of America did you pick - I had a choice of about 20 - so I picked BOA (Virginia) which is the account location BOA gave me. At netbank, after the BOA Va. it has (Nations)in paranthesis. I assume BOA bought NAtions in Va. Maybe I am not using the right BOA from the list supplied by netbank but I note that I did in fact try several other BOA's from the list that seemed like they might be appropriate but to no avail.
