Savingslink Rates (updated 6/30/2008):
3.65% APY $250,000
3.65% APY $100,000 - $249,999
3.65% APY $50,000 - $99,999
3.65% APY $10,000 - $49,999
3.00% APY < $10,000

Can link 5 external accounts.

FDIC insured. (Countrywide is a subprime lender.)

Routing Number: 056009110

No Quicken support past version 2004.

Link to Countrywide

1 (business) day ACH transfers! But must schedule 1 business day ahead, and let money rest at CWB for 5 business days before it's available to move out.

Although Countrywide used to do a hard pull for all apps, it has been reported by multiple users that this is no longer true. However, they query ChexSystems for each account (i.e., SavingsLink, each CD, etc.) even though their website and their employees say they don't.

I was thinking of doing this as part of my first app-o-rama since they do a hard pull upon setup.

Where did you get the idea that they do hard pull? I opened several CDs with Countrywide before and never saw any hard pull from them.

Did you open your CD's in a branch or online? I did a CD with Countrywide recently online and they pulled on me as you can see below from Myfico report. I called the other day to ask if there would be another pull if I opened a savingslink account. CSR told me yes, It is an automated system where the second you fill out an online application for any account with them your report will get pulled. Because of that I declined. More people need to let these banks know we will not do business with them if they can't verify the way most bank manage to do it without a hard pull.

Total number of inquiries resulting from you applying for credit 2

Date Company requesting your credit record
3/4/2006 CNTRYWIDE
8/8/2005 AMTRST ADO

why not just freeze your credit/report...the only time anyone can get into your credit report is if you let them..example a password etc..

Would if I could, But only a couple of States give you the option to do it. Would be fun if I could, Then when the bank tells me they could not get my report I could tell them that they either pay the unfreeze charge or say good bye to my $100k, Bet they would then come up with another way to verify my identity

I Tried to open an account but Equifax has a mistake om my drivers license number and Countrywide refuses to deal with it. They say get Equifax to fix it. I have been trying for six months. Other banks will accept a copy of my license.

Sweet! Hello Countrywide 5¼%; so long ($100k of ) Citibank 4¾%.

Decades, I know you mention fast ACH transfers but . . . are the ACH fees worth it? If I understand this correctly, I'd have
FEES to push from Citibank
+ FEES to pull into Countrywide

The Countrywide Application Disclosure Handbook states:
The minimum amount for electronic fund transfers that you initiate to/from other institutions is $50 per transfer.
I'm funding with $2,500 check (my overdraft limit ). What is the best way to push $97,500 to them?

There is no fee for ACH transfers. I did notice reading in the disclosure that there is a $20 early termination fee if closed within 90 days. I have not opened an account yet but since you can link 3 accounts looks like you just pull from where your taking funds. remember that the second you submit that online application they will pull your CR

What they are saying is the min amount to do an ACH transfer is $50. In other words you cannot transfer less
