yes , another Yodlee thread - but this thread has a different purpose - SOLELY to analyze which older versions of Yodlee we can still use via partner sites, if we are unhappy with the new Yodlee Moneycenter.

As seen in the Yodlee MoneyCenter thread, a lot of us dislike it and wish we could go back to an older version of Yodlee. Well the good news is WE CAN!

All it requires is signing up for Yodlee again, but this time through one of their partner sites, listed here
http://corporate.yodlee.com/customers/consumers.html'

And the thing is, a lot of them are different! Some use Yodlee version 4, 5, 6 etc. So its helpful to analyze which version each bank uses, and whether we can signup with that bank even if we arent customers of that bank.

I've placed the list of partner sites in the QuickSummary. I would appreciate it if those who use these "flavors" of yodlee comment on them by posting below, and updating the Quicksummary to indicate: 1. Which version of Yodlee the partner site uses (version 4, 5, 6 etc). 2. If NON customers of that partner bank can signup.

Yes it will mean re-entering all our account logins, but Hopefully this will be a valuable list for those wishing to move back to a previous Yodlee version.

Compass Bank and as far as I know anyone can sign.

Thank you!

Both HSBC and Wachovia require you have an account with them.

Moneycenter and Dashboaed are far superior to the old Yodlee moneycenter just give yourselves a little time to get used to it

phazlehurst has gone, he'll only answer to question in Yodlee's forum.
But for the purpose OP started this thread, I feel better here

Still, I have to ask something: how do I find the version?
I only used BofA's flavor before, and I can't seem to find out which version it is.

leedsutd67 said: [Q]Moneycenter and Dashboaed are far superior to the old Yodlee moneycenter just give yourselves a little time to get used to itwe may get used to it, and yodlee may work out the bugs, but for RIGHT NOW, there are bugs, its slowing down some computers and is not functional for SOME people.

We need an alternative solution, and getting Yodlee's prior versions through the partner sites is that solution.

leedsutd67 said: [Q]MoneyCenter and Dashboard are far superior to the old Yodlee OnCenter just give yourselves a little time to get used to itI and others sincerely beg to differ.

I use and will continue to use almost exclusively the v4.x interface through HSBC EasyView. It's by far the most intuitive, more informative of the versions out there.

Also, for what it's worth, v5.x and v6.x are for all intents and purposes roughly the same product. v6.x is a bit cleaner in the UI and includes the Due Date information in the Bill Pay module, but that's the only noticeable difference from my perspective.

v4.x is heads and tails above the v5.x/v6.x UI, though. I signed up at CompassBank's MyCompass in order to get access to v4.x. And when they "upgraded" to v5.x, I left them and went so far as to sign up for a Checking account at HSBC in order to get access to HSBC EasyView, which is a v4.x system.

Imagine that -- someone would go through the horror of an HSBC account signup in order to get access to v4.x of Yodlee. (Twice even...I first signed up for their Online Savings account, only to find out that the Online Savings account didn't qualify my for access to EasyView.)

Does anybody know which version Wachovia Onestop is?

g10ny said: [Q]Still, I have to ask something: how do I find the version?
I only used BofA's flavor before, and I can't seem to find out which version it is.If you post a screenshot of the dashboard I can usually tell which version it is.

The My Bills module is the dead giveaway, though. If Date Due is listed in the My Bills section, that's a v6.x variant. Otherwise it's likely v5.x.

The only v4.x customers I know of are HSBC EasyView and Chase Online Plus (though I can't seem to sign up for Chase Online Plus anymore). Edit: NationalCity *also* uses v4.x and has free sign-up even for people without accounts at their bank!

Also, MSN Moneycentral / My Money uses some bastardized variant that's truly glacial and painful to work with. And I've always kinda wondered about EverBank's interface...it seems like a Yodlee 0.x or something...anyone know who provides their web-based interface?

I think you are missing the point, this marvelous Free site (in which i would gladly pay a service fee) is an excellent financial tool, think how much time it would take to log in to individual sites
I for one are very thankful for Yodlee for this site.

I agree.
yodlee's UI designer should be fired.
I am only a new user of yodlee 6.x for less than a month.
I found that 6.x is alot easier to navigate and use than 7.x.
how do they manage to go worse in every product upgrade?

I for one are very thankful for Yodlee for this site.we are getting access to the same great Yodlee product, just the previous version of it by going through the bank website, because many of us prefer the prior version...thats the point of this thread, how to get access to the previous versions for those who prefer them.

If you like the new version, enjoy it!

I'd like to jump in on this but can someone tell me how to signup for Yodlee's newest version (presumably only available on their own site)?

I looked around and couldn't find anything. I'm going to resurrect a Wachovia account I dont' use to try out their previous version. I've never used a product like it before but because of FW I've opened too many accounts to keep accurate track of.

If that is the case, then Wachovia One-Stop is a v6 variant, as they show a Date Due in the My Bills section.

What is the major difference of v4.x to v5.x?
So we can identify some sites and report back.
Thanks.

HSBC EasyView and Chase Online Plus are the only ones that are using v4.x at present. Of those two, HSBC is the only one I know is accepting new accounts, but you need to have an HSBC Checking account to create an EasyView account.

If you want to check out v4.x, PM me with the username you'd like to use and an e-mail address and I'll set up an HSBC EasyView account for you to use.

Hi mbaker4096, could you describe a bit the major UI differences of v4.x to v5.x?
Thanks a lot.

leedsutd67 said: [Q]I think you are missing the point, this marvelous Free site (in which i would gladly pay a service fee) is an excellent financial tool, think how much time it would take to log in to individual sites. It used to be an excellent financial tool that saved me tons of time and allowed me to see all the details from every one of my accounts on a single page.

From ONE page, I could look at every credit card and, in a glance, KNOW what my Due Date, Available Credit, Minimum Payment, Statement Balance, and Current Balance was for that card. Now, I'm able only to see the Current Balance of the card...if I want those other details, I have to click into the account detail for each and every account. That, to me, forces me to spend as much time as I would typically logging into every account.

So while the older versions of the product -- v4.x being the gold standard, v5.x/v6.x being about 80% as effective -- were indeed time savers for me, there's just not enough info visible in one place on any of the new version's screens for me to call it an effective management tool for my many many accounts.

You enjoy your v7.x. I'll stick with v4.x, thanks.

mbaker4096 said: [Q]HSBC EasyView and Chase Online Plus are the only ones that are using v4.x at present.

mbaker4096, have you tried National City My Accounts (don't need to be a customer to sign up)? if so based on your experience is it really v5.x ? Thank You.

rebatefan said: [Q]Hi mbaker4096, could you describe a bit the major UI differences of v4.x to v5.x?
Thanks a lot. Here's some immediate feedback I sent them, lamenting the features lost in the "upgrade", as soon as they deployed the first beta of version 5.x -- a little over 2 years ago.

Initial letter to Yodlee

Followup suggestions to design team

Read the rest of the thread for sample reactions of other FW users and note the similarities between what we said for the v4.x->v5.x upgrade and the v6.x->v7.x upgrade. FWIW, I believe most people migrated to using MyCompass for the next year and a half, and then most of us have shifted to HSBC EasyView since MyCompass decided to give up the ghost and go with v5.x.

DealAlerts said: [Q]mbaker4096, have you tried National City My Accounts (don't need to be a customer to sign up)? if so based on your experience is it really v5.x ? Thank You.Truthfully, I haven't. Gimme a sec and I'll try it out.

I looked at the screenshots they had up and it looked identical to what Compass Bank has up, which I know is version 5.x.

I'll check it out and report back.

EDIT: Wowza! v4.x lives! You're right...NationalCity *IS* running v4.x of the software! Huge respect to them...I've updated the chart at the top of the post. This is great news! Looks like I have a few posts of my own to edit. Here's a link to their main page. Click on Register Now! to sign up...

@ mbaker, ref. BofA.

You might check this:

g10ny said: [Q]You might check this:It's obviously v5.x or v6.x.

I'm leaning toward v6.x because of the terminology, but those are largely configurable by request of the host bank.

Let me see if I can set it up for myself. I have a Bank of America account or three.

Edit: Can't do it. Doesn't look like I can sign up for it.

While I don't like BOA I still keep $2,500 there just because I like that portfolio manager that I have been using since they were Fleet. So it is Yodlee? So far only account I have been unable to add is Countrywide

mbaker4096, when you log in to your boa account, don't you see a 'My Portfolio' link under 'Other Accounts & Information'?

Not sure why you cannot. This is what it says on BOA site

What is "My Portfolio"?
My Portfolio is a free service to Online Banking customers. It provides the ability to consolidate and manage your online accounts, from multiple financial and non-financial institutions, in a single place using your Online Banking online ID and passcode.

Why should I sign up for the service?
As a Bank of America Online Banking user, you'll be able to take advantage of the convenience of viewing and accessing your online accounts - both Bank of America and non-Bank of America - at bankofamerica.com. Best of all, this service is free.

How much does My Portfolio cost?
There is no fee to access the service.

opmnxtc said: [Q]mbaker4096, when you log in to your boa account, don't you see a 'My Portfolio' link under 'Other Accounts & Information'?Nope. Guess that's the curse of being from Washington. Seafirst never got completely integrated with the rest of BofA's network.

We have different logons for Credit Cards too...I can request a CLI directly from my credit card online banking interface. Can you?

Thank you OP for this thread. I used to have Yodlee through Citibank, then moved to Yodlee so I wouldn't be tied to Citibank. It a great service and I went along with all the changes. I gave the v7 a chance, took the time and added a bunch of nicknames so I know where the transactions came from. I just do not like the new UI. Not to mention the slow response and problem with firefox, which will eventually get resolved.
I just created a National City acct, which is my local bank anyway. I suppose eventually it will be upgraded, but I believe the transistion will be much smoother since the regular Yodlee users would have provided all the feedback to making the new service much more stable, useful, and flexible. I would have gladly helped by trying beta sites and providing feedbacks, but Yodlee doesn't seem to want to give loyal users a choice in this matter.

While I USED to prefer using yodlee.com directly, they are treating us as the guinea pigs for their new offerings...it now seems more prudent to me to use them through one of their partner sites, where reliability (and ease of use) are more guaranteed. Im not interested in being Yodlees beta tester

didYOUsearch said: [Q]Im not interested in being Yodlees beta tester

I wouldn't mind so much if they built progressively better interfaces and functionality... :/

One note:

The one advantage that the NationalCity implementation has over the HSBC EasyView is that you can select Show Password from the Edit Account Preferences page.

MyCompass had this, Yodlee's copy of v4.x had this, but HSBC EasyView and MyCiti never did.

So I'll probably start using them from now on. Nice thing about v4.x is that it's so quick and spritely...takes no time at all to add a bunch of accounts and get the thing set up. The longest process I'll have will be getting all my logins/passwords from the v5.x MyCompass site.

I completely agree. Or, if so, I wouldn't mind getting paid for the hassle

I just tried the National City My Accounts for a while, but couldn't find a button/link to Refresh All accounts?
Is it just me? Anyone find it?
thx.

Nope...it's really not there. Oh well...win some, lose some. All finished adding all my accounts except for a Key Bank account. Waiting for Yodlee.com to come back up in order to find out what that password is...

hmm. NationalCity makes a big deal about their $100k insurance...do all the other partner Yodlee logins offer the same insurance?

didYOUsearch said: [Q]hmm. NationalCity makes a big deal about their $100k insurance...do all the other partner Yodlee logins offer the same insurance?Yep. That's standard for Yodlee aggregated accounts, regardless of the partner bank.

Anyone concerned with the "Low Grade" RC4 40-bit encryption that National City My Accounts login page reports? Firefox page info reports that "low grade encryption may allow some unautorized people to view this information."

MarketVViz said: [Q]Regarding Yodlee alternatives (which I think is still sort of on topic here), any other programmers out there? How about a new open source project to do account aggregation? I've been thinking about this for a while, mostly because Yodlee hasn't fixed all of the data quality issues (if you browse their own forums, in the thread announcing the latest release of moneycenter I see user comments like "stop releasing new versions and trying to add new bells & whistles when you've got all these data quality problems you should be fixing").I was thinking about this the other day and realized what must really be happening with data quality as of late...

Yodlee's been successfully building up a huge base of agents that are able to access your account information at various banks... There have been a few bumps in the road as banks have tried adding in new authentication methods, but for the most part, it's been a steady increase in the number of functional agents. Then 2006 comes along and banks are being required to have 2-factor authentication and pretty much EVERY bank is going through and overhauling their security mechanisms all at the same time. Yodlee has likely been running to catch up with the multitude of upgrading banks. Add to that the merger of BofA/MBNA (which requires support of a seriously hacked together back-end interface...BofA already had problems with their disparate systems and the addition of MBNA didn't make things any better) and I can understand why they've been a little overwhelmed and slow to catch up with all of the reported data issues.

I don't blame them for the problems accessing accounts. I hope it'll be resolved soon because Yodlee is seriously non-functional with this many accounts not updating, but I'm not going to hold it against them just yet. I know they're trying.

[Q]I like the idea of a simple, fast, clean interface that shows a lot of detail on a single scrollable page.So do I. It's too bad the baby got tossed out with the bathwater back with the transition from v4.x to v5.x.
