i got my card today and im all set to get my rewards.. just remember that you ahve to make a purchase to get the 10,000 ty points. and if you do a balance transfer that your payments will go to the bt before the purcahse you made for the points. SO MAKE sure you pay off the initial payment before you do any balance transfers..

1) What's the expiration date on this offer? (edit: ooops, I missed the link to the scan...expires 9/15/06)
2) I already have a Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards card. Does Citi allow you to get a second of the same type of card? |

So in order to maximize, one should get the card and use the 2% reward for purchase for 11 months. Then make sure you have no balance and do a no-fee 0% BT before 8/1/07.
hmmm, very tempting. This will be my 2nd diamond reward, and 3rd citi card. |

Why do you suggest doing BT right before 8/1/07. My understanding is 0% BT rate will end 8/1/07. |

If this is like other citi cards, then the 0% BT is good for 12 months from the day you initiate the BT. So you have aabout 11 months to use the 2% reward and another 12 months for the 0% BT.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

the Fidelity 529 plan is good but not better.
TY Points are worth more than 1 cent each, so in essence you are getting greater than 2% reward on your spending with this deal, and no penalty or tax for the withdrawal of the reward, and no need to set up a 529 shell account.
But the 529 plan is good. |

looks like they are different offers, although with the same card. for offer code F1G7, you get 2 points per $1 for 1 year , but 0 APR balance transfer only until 8/1/07. for the offer through link www.citibank.com/us/cards/index.jsp, you Don't get 2 points per $1, but 0 APR balance transfer for 12 months from the first date balance transfer, and 5 points per $1 for supermarket, drug store and gas station. |

Read the fine print of the ad again: "New cardmemebers only."
Not sure if you can close your current Diamond Preferred Rewards card (or better yet, convert it to something else) first and then qualify for this offer. |

I'm new to the Citi Thankyou points network and have a dumb question I recently signed up for another Citi card and got 10,000 bonus points.
If I sign up my wife for this card, can I have the bonus 10,000 points be deposited in my account, so that we'll have 20,000 points in one account? Or, do the points have to go into her own account(like airline miles, for eg)?
Thanks a lot. |

I think "new cardmembers" really means "new applications". I have a diamond rewards card before. This time I applied again and have already received both the 10k and 2% points from the first few transactions. |
