Citibank has a new promo code F1G7 that was advertised in today's paper for the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards card.

Highlights are

2 points per dollar on everything for 12 months.
0% APR on ballance transfers until 8/1/07 with no balance transfer fees
10,000 Thank you bonus points after first purchase

I'd use my other 5% card for groceries, Drugstore purchases and gas and use this one for everything else.

Seems like a straight 2% card for one year. Max spend is $37,500 for the year which will net you $750.

Unfortunately, to get the 2% I cant do a BT..

Thanks this looks great. I think of it as a net $375 though, if you use it instead of a 1% card.

I take that back, this looks awesome, including $100 gift card??? I just finished an AOR, but geez this is tempting, I think I am in.

PS again im looking at the paper's website, what section was it?

Thanks OP. However, after entering the code it doesn't say anything about 2 points per dollar for a year. Am I missing something?

Why won't you guys go for fidelity 529 card? It is straight 2% for ever. And yeah 10% penalty is only on earnings on rewards and not on the the rewards.

Thank you EvanM for the scan. Yea I was considering that 529 card too. I have no children to send to college, but I guess that doesnt matter? I wasnt sure if there were restriction with 529 accounts that would be a disadvantage. So far I havent been able to find any, not have I been able to find a rule about restrictons for collge tuiition only.

This sounds very good.

This still gets 5% on the grocer, drug and gas categories, I think.

Edit: Nevermind, I was thinking that 5-point rewards were permanent with Diamond Preferred. Whoops. Not sure if this is a great deal or not now.

I'd be careful with that thought. I don't see where it says that.

And then we can register the card at the Google Checkout & get another 1,000 points.

I have been reading about it and I found there are no restrictions. There is a whole discussion on that thread too.

AWESOME deal! Thanks OP!!

2% Thank You Points can be worth more than straight 2% cash backs because of the killer Thank You point-to-ticket value redemption rate for flights, particularly the international ones. So if you fly, this deal is for you. If you don't, stick to the 529 card.

Read the latest posts in the Best way to use Citi Thank You Points thread for more details.

What's the fidelity 529 card? Can anyone give a link for that major thread? Thanks!
