I’m sorry if you are sick of these threads but I just thought I’d throw out my new AOR for any comments. I started my AOR last night at 12:01 a.m. (it took about 2 hours to complete the apps online). I recently finished my last AOR in May and completed some consolidation in the hopes of increasing the odds of getting more Chase/Citi Cards. Current Fico scores are in the 760s.

Here are my current cards/CLs:
Chase Cash Rewards $27 K
Chase Cashbuilder $22 K
Citi AT&T Universal Card (to be converted to Dividend card) $29 K
Citi Upromise $20 K
MBNA $27 K
Discover $6 K
BOFA money return $21 K
AMEX NYC Card $6 K
AMEX Blue $500

Cards I applied for this morning:

AMEX Business Cash Rebates - $75 from Card Offers (‘CO”); 12 mo 0% BT -deferred
AMEX Starwood – instant approval 25K CL
AMEX Preferred Gold – 10K points; $40 from CO $130 an. fee; instant approval; CL not stated
AMEX Plat Business – 12 mos 0%; $75 from CO- deferred
Citi PremierPass Card - Elite Level $40 card offers 1500 bonus points deferred
Citi Professional Card ($100 gift card +$40 and 0% APR for 12 months) deferred
Citi Business – 15K bonus points; 0% 12 mo BT; deferred
Citi Busines Premier Pass – 15k bonus points; 0% 12 mos BT- deferred
At&t Universal Card - $100 and 12mo 0% BT -deferred
Penfed Credit Card – instant approval $15K
Advanta Platinum BusinessCard ; $50 from CO; 0.00% BT: instant approval; CL not stated
Chase Sony Styles $100 cash and 12mo 0% BT – instant approval $5K CL
Chase Marriot Rewards Visa 15000 bonus points -deferred
Chase Cash Rewards Plus 0% 12 months $100 - code 2YL -deferred
Chase Business Card cash rebate – 3% Cash Back at restaurants- deferred
Bank of America Power Rewards – 6 mo 0%; 30 from co- deferred

4 instant approvals and most deferred. I am very interested to see how many (if any) Citi/Chase cards I will get. I will update.

At&t Universal Card – Approved $10K; 0% BT/ 12 months /no fee; $40 from Cardoffers + $100 Gift Card

Penfed Credit Card – Approved $15K

Advanta Platinum Business Card -Approved $12.5K; 0% BT/ 15 months /$50 fee

Chase Sony Styles – Approved $12.5K; 0% BT/ 12 months /$75 fee; will reallocate from another card; $100 bonus.

Chase Marriot Rewards Visa – Approved $25K; 1 free night; 15K rewards points.

Chase Cash Rewards Plus - Approved $11.5K; reallocated 22K from existing card for a 33K CL.; 0% BT/ 12 months /$75 fee; $100 bonus

Chase Business Card cash rebate – Approved $10K; 0% BT/ 12 months /$75 fee.

Bank of America Power Rewards – Approved 10K; 0% BT / 6 months/ no fee; will reallocate $20K from existing BOFA card; $30 from Cardoffers

Additional applications – a week later:
Fidelity 529 – Approved $10K (automatically lowered a CL on an existing MBNA line by 10K)

Cap One – Approved $10K; targeted offer; 0% BT/ 12 months /no fees.

Jupiter Orbitz – Approved $31K; sweet! - 0% BT/ 12 months /no fees.

Discover Card Miles - Approved $10K; 0% BT/ 12 months /no fees; $40 from Cardoffers; will reallocate from existing Discover card.

Closing thoughts:

• $208K in new credit and even more available for 0% BTs after I reallocate existing CLs to these cards. I am surprised that I got additional Citi and Chase cards. It may have helped that I consolidated prior to the AOR. The credit lines on some are low but provide the perfect vehicle to move existing CLs to these cards for 0% BT transfers.

• Bonuses: $400 form Card offers and about $1000 in Gift cards/cash/points.

• I might have been a little too aggressive on the cards I applied for. I don’t travel much so I need to find a way to use Starwood and Marriott Rewards benefits. I will probably move most of these Credit Lines to other cards for BTs if possible.

• Probably didn’t need Penfed since I should easily be able to use other cards to BT to (with no fees).

• In my haste I didn’t realize that the AMEX cards were 0% for purchases only; oh well, at least I made decent Card Offer/cash/point bonuses on those cards

• It is interesting that I got approval for the Fidelity, Cap One, Discover and Jupiter card (because I applied for these cards over a week after the AOR started. All of the other applications were completed online on the same day.

• I need to decide what should be in my wallet. My thoughts are: existing Citi Dividend card for food and gas (5%); Citi Professional for restaurants (3%); and Fidelity 529 for all other purchases (2%).

• The last decision is how aggressive to be on utilization (always tempting to max it – especially with low risk rates at 5%). I usually go to about 90% and have never had any problems. However, that might just be luck that could easily run out.

Copied here from page two for quick reference.

Good luck, I like your mix of cards, seems like a lot of bonuses and 0%. Are all these no fee BT or do some have fees?

the last time I applied for citi cc (few months ago), I was asked to call CSR and from the conversation, the CSR approved my application but with limit on the CL since I already have a huge limit on all Citi cards.

Interesting to see how many (if not all) of all Citi cc that you applied got approved.

alert mods

I waited until the credit reports showed only a couple of inquires over the last 12 mos. Obviously, if they look at inquires over the past 2 years, they will see many more.

alert mods

Just curious, what's your income level that allows you to get nearly $200K in credit?

How did you do an AoR two months ago and only have a couple of inquiries in the last 12 months?

I think Raven's talking about May 2005, not 2006.

I would not consider 14 months ago to be "recent"...

He finished his AoR a couple months ago, which means he probably filled out the apps between 1-2 years ago.

that's right, I had 16 inquires in May 2005 which disappeared from the credit report in June 2006.

Citi may balk at all the apps, but as long as only 2 of them are for personal cards you might be OK there. Chase approved me for 3 cards I applied for at the same time, although it took them a while and I wasn't automatically approved for anything. Also, if you look at the fine print for the Sony card, if they approve you instantly you get your account number and a temporary $5k credit line. The actual credit line may well be higher than that. (Mine wasn't, but it was my first AOR and my credit history is relatively short.)

If you applied for the citi prof. card today, I would apply again tomorrow (so that you get 2 cards in this AOR). Should only pull 1 report for the 2 aps.

I have many of those cards and was going to apply for a Citi Professional Cash Back Card and a Chase Professional card in October 2006 since I applied for my last cards at the end of August in 2005. Since Citi was discontinuing the AT&T Universal Cash Rewards they converted it to a Dividend card. So now I have 2 Dividend cards. I asked if I could convert the 2nd one to a Professional and they said no, that I had to re-apply since Dividend is personal and Professional is business.

I was wondering how you got the got $100 gift card and bonus $40 for the Citi Professional? Is the Citi Professional that your applying for the one w/ points? or the Cash Back one that I'm applying for? I was going to apply off Citi's website here:

https://www.accountonline.com/ACQ/Chooser/LearnMore?siteId=CB&CARD_KEYS=6E4ZE266-G

but if there is somewhere I can apply and get the bonuses please let me know.

Good luck w/ all your applications and let us know which you get approved for.

To get the extra $40 bonus sign up for cardoffers.com. You will find the bonuses under the cash rewards section. Make sure you click the green apply button to get the $40.

Thanks a lot! I'll sign up for cardoffers before I apply! How about the $100 gift card? is that separate? I didn't see it on cardoffers.

Edit: too bad the only Citi Professional on there is the points network one. I want the Cash Back one. Thanks anyway.

I am going to try to apply for the Citi professional (points) and get the $100 GC w/ first purchase and $40 through card offers. I will then call Citi and ask to convert to the Citi Professional Cash Back card instead of the Citi Professional Thank you points . They are the same card but one gives cash and one gives points so conversion should be OK. I rather get cash so I can spend it on anything vs gift cards that are only good at the qualifying merchants or the points for merchandise I may not want in the booklet.

What income are you guys reporting? It has to be a couple hundred thousand dollars a year since I have a score of 780 or so and report $150K and only get $9-$12K CL. My max is $15K and that's after having the card for years.

Granted I haven't exactly pushed for super high CL but you guys are getting instantly approved for way more than I do.

Why are you applying to cards without a 0% into rate and fees on BT's or BT's with rates above 0% let alone 5%?
