What if you cancelled now and try to sign up again? Wouldn't you be ineligible for the 30-day free trial and thus the billing would start immediately?

abalazs said:Does anyone who has CreditSecure have a way of getting around the 30 day review period? I called them to ask if I could just start paying now and pull my new report right away and they shot me down. I seem to recall other people being able to do that some time ago.

Thanks

That seems like a good idea. I'll call and ask them what happens.

Does myFICO.com allow daily pulls of Equifax enabling Equifax bumpage?

I bought a one year subscription to myFICO.com and with it you get two included credit reports to use at your discretion, although I think the first one comes automatically, leaving you with one left. So no, no daily pulls, and lately it has been extremely slow in updating me with new fico scores, taking as long as 2 months to update, when I know from doing daily pulls with privacy matters, that my score should have changed. Still worth it though in my opinion. I think it was about $80 for the year.

Has anyone ever heard of ID Theftsmart?

Link

This is what my employer offers, and I couldn't find anything on the company in the forums. It doesn't say anything about daily pulls, which seems like the main thing people look for.

Any deals out there for credit monitoring services?

Nothing else out there? Need a decent one to take a look at Report as well as FICO/FAKO scores. Thanks.

Citi is pretty good for me, no bumpage but for $4.95 a month for monthly pulls and all three credit reports, good enough for me.

Same here. I used NC and Citi, but cancelled NC today because I am not into b*. $4.95 is a great deal IMO...

I enrolled myself today... It appears to be paper based. Has anyone else at FW had any experience with IDTheftsmart?

Data point to report, FWIW: I did some 0% investing a year ago and pulled out about $65K in 0% money from three cards: a USAA Mastercard, Chase Sony Visa and a Discover. According to WAMU, My score dropped from 740 to 660 when I did that, prolly because utilization went >80% on all three cards. Score climbed slowly from Mar07-Jan08 from 660ish to about 685.

I paid the cards off in jan08, and WAMU now tells me that my score is 796. I haven't changed anything else in that time - no loan payoffs or other change in status - so that's a 110 point jump just for paying off the three 0% loans. Pretty radical change....

AMEX CS has no clue (don't ask them), just cancel. When I signed back up it still took about 1 week to get to pull again but it didn't take 30 days.

I think I heard WAMU's score isn't the most accurate for some reason. What's confusing me is why you jumped from 740 -> 796 if nothing has changed except your accounts got a year older?

The smiths web site does not seem to work.

Firedrake said:So I was at a Smiths grocery the other day and noticed a flyer (which I grabbed to investigate)....they're offering 1 month of the "PrivacyGuard" service for $1, but the bonus is that you get a $20 gift card for Smiths just for trying it! The website is www.smithsfoodanddrug.com/finance, has anyone else used/tried this PrivacyGuard service?
