Have anybody had the same experience with True Credit? I tried to sign up online with WalMart discount, but total comes up as $13.70 instead of $11.21. CR is useless, they said it is a tax in my state(MN). I know there is no taxes in MN for financial services.
Thanks

I just canceled AMEX CreditSecure. I found that it did a poor job estimating my credit scores.
My Experian score was 75 points higher when I got it directly from Experian then it was when I got the Experian estimate from CreditSecure. Despite significant events, I also found that my CreditSecure scores never changed one time in the 5 or so months I had the program.

this is pretty common. happened to me the first month, and it was correct the second. i didn't do a thing, and i didn't worry about it. others have called to successfully correct the charge.

TrueCredit shows all soft pulls done by banks on mine
It does for me too. My bank does soft pulls every 6 months for my HELOC, so I know it is a soft pull. It only shows up on Equifax for some reason. If it helps.

I recently had the opposite experience with CreditSecure. I just got an auto loan and the number they told me from Experian was about 50 points lower than the number I got from CreditSecure on the same day. So the next day I check again, and the numbers from CreditSecure are the same. Actually for the 3 months I've had the service my score hasn't changed at all from all three, even though I have been using my credit.

I've searched for this, but didn't find an answer...when you login to TrueCredit and view your 3 in 1 credit report, does this generate a soft pull or do I have to do something else? Also, how do check soft pulls from TrueCredit. Thanks for any clarification.

1. Does it generate a soft pull? Yes it does. But to generate one each day, you need to click on "Update report" link at least 24 hrs and 1 minute after your previous update, and follow the steps.
2. How do I check for soft pulls? Each CRA is different. Here: http://www.fatwallet.com/t/52/742598/10981972#m10981972. Read section II of that message.

I know AUs are taboo, but I have a question. I allowed myself to become an AU on my wifes account. Now the AU is reported on my CR. I just recently had the AU removed with the creditor, but how does the AU get removed from my CR...does it: 1. remove itself after a certain time? 2. Do i have to file a dispute.
If someone knows how could let me know, that would be great...thanks.

1 - yes, but it takes months 2 - if you want it off immediately

I called to cancel creditsecure and the lady offered me $24 off if I paid for the full year upfront...works to $9.99 per month. I thought it was worthwhile for those blanked out of PM123 for any reason.

If you have Ameritrade a/c, mail them that you are concerned about their recent security breach and ask them what are they doing to protect your interests. They will give you a one year free credit monitoring service..
I tried it successfully.

Do any of the credit monitoring services allow you to get automatic alerts whenever your balance changes above a certain amount?
I could have sworn that someone said you could do it with Creditsecure, but now that I'm signed up I can't figure it out.
I just got a free year of Trucredit from Lasalle bank. Apparently someone took home a laptop with my SSN on it, even though they don't believe anything was lost. Saves me from paying AMEX now.

Thanks DreamR2I. I emailed them and they said they are sending out a packet for Triple Alert SM credit monitoring.

"With our 3-in-1 Credit Report, you get unlimited online access to a consolidated report..."
unlimited access or unlimited updates? if it's the latter, might work for bumpage.

I believe the Privacy Assist Premier product will only obtain new credit reports every 90 days. Unlike TrueCredit, I don't think you can request new daily credit reports and scores. The daily monitoring in Privacy Assist is for alerts only.

not sure if this is the right place for this ... but could someone please tell me if there is a reason why for Equifax all of my accounts show as "ND" (No Data). using CreditSecure is actually says "ND". using Privacy Matters or True Credit it just shows a white block. i've tried calling Equifax but they keep asking for my credit report number ... and i don't know how to get that. anyone have any insight on this?

Well that sucks, i dont wanna have to access it 30 times in a month and get the same info. I currently have Credit Secure, it does have bumpage working. One of the queries from Dec 2006 disappeared already couple of weeks ago, so it bumped it out before a year. I think i'll stick with CS for now.
Now i'm tracking changes of my score from on a spreadsheet recently. Some weird score changes. Date----------- Total Account Balance-------- Score ------------Exp---------Eq---------TU-------Exp-Eq-TU 9/25/2007 $40,136.00 $29,705.00 $29,705.00 734 771 749 9/28/2007 $40,136.00 $40,136.00 $29,705.00 734 746 749 10/1/2007 $40,136.00 $40,136.00 $40,136.00 734 746 734 10/6/2007 $39,961.00 $40,136.00 $40,136.00 734 746 738 10/21/2007 $38,952.00 $39,387.00 $39,152.00 746 746 738 10/23/2007 $38,952.00 $38,952.00 $39,152.00 746 768 738 10/24/2007 $50,002.00 $38,952.00 $38,952.00 736 768 750
Dont know how that 50K showed up.. surely havent charged anything that much.. or is Exp really late on the reporting.
edit.. well i checked again, now EQ has changed, now same as Exp, but score went down by 40.
I am looking for a the ability to pull "fresh" reports anytime, see the scores(I don't think these are the true FICO scores?), and be alerted to any changes from all 3 (TU,EX,EQ).
Has anyone found a service that lets you pull all 3 complete reports on demand, gives you access to REAL FICO scores, and will alert you of changes to any of the 3 reports?

BTW I have already gotten the 2 free CLUE reports(auto and personal property loss/claims reports) http://www.choicetrust.com/servlet/com.kx.cs.servlets.CsServlet?channel=welcome&subchannel=clue_info I'm not aware of any one service that will give you all those features. The feature that I haven't found anywhere else but at myFICO.com is the ability to see all 3 true FICO scores at the same time. The other services I've seen that show 3 scores at once use FAKO. Rather than relying on the accuracy of FAKO, I just compare the scores with the scores on the previous report. I assume that a significant change would also reflect on the FICO scores, whatever the difference between the FAKO and FICO scores is.
I use Privacy Matters 123, which apparently uses TrueCredit as its engine, to obtain all three reports daily (although I'm told you can't get a new report *exactly* 24 hours after the prior report, you just wait a bit before requesting the subsequent report), and it does e-mail you with alerts when your report has changed.

Based on the info in your link, this credit.com TrueLink looks to be good ole TrueCredit. This isn't what your looking for since you have to wait 24 hours to pull a new report and the scores are FAKOs.
I don't know of any single service that does what you want. I believe myFICO ScoreWatch does everything but only for Equifax. AMEX CreditSecure allows you to pull every day regardless of time and monitors all 3 CRAs but uses FAKO scores.

OK so it looks like the best place to get all 3 FICO scores is myFICO.com
I can use promo code mw01 for 20% off and get the cost down to $38.28
It seems I can only pull the real FICO scores once(report available for 30 days) for this fee?
Does anyone have experience with myFICO.com services?

you pay every time you want new fico scores - correct?
I wanted to ensure I understood what my $$ was getting me. Many of the non-fico reporting companies let you pull your report over and over (and get new data as they are added to your report), where as myFICO just pulls the score at time of purchase. If you want to check the scores again in 2 months, you would need to repay to get the new scores - correct?

I'm planning to do my first (mini) AOR in the near future and have started looking into the various credit monitoring services for scores and pulling down of reports, etc.
Q1 - What do the seasoned AOR pros usually use? A combination of one or more services?
Q2 - It looks like current deal with Privacy Matters 123 ($29.95/year offer) is the best one going (for daily reports, bumpage) but only provides FAKO scores?
Q3 - For "true" FICO scores (to determine and establish baseline of where I am at presently scores-wise), the only two places to get them is from Equifax or at myFICO.com? I've seen 20% off coupons for Equifax and I believe there's a 12% CashBack from FW as well. Thus, I'm thinking of the following strategy: sign up for the 3 CRA FICO scores (is there a free trial?) then sign up for Privacy Matters 123 for daily monitoring of activities?
Thanks!

That's all that you need. It's a waste of time and money for you to pay for your true FICO scores. The FAKO scores are ample enough approximations for an AOR and will move up and down roughly in proportion to changes in your FICO. I wouldn't bother paying for true FICOs unless you were entertaining application for a substantial mortgage,etc.........

I believe, though, that myFICO tells you the score when it changes more than some amount (maybe an amount that you can set). I had the myFICO trial and I got several scores during that time.

That's very odd; I've never seen that. You mention "myFICO trial", that doesn't sound the same as the product I'm talking about, FICO Credit Complete, which gives you three scores, three credit reports, and specifically says that's it's a snapshot of this information at the time of purchase. There's Score Watch, that does as you describe, but it's only for Equifax. Perhaps you mean Score Watch?
As suggested by djspray over in the PM123 thread, I'm posting my experience here w/myFICO and the differences in results from PM123 in reporting of scores.
Ever since signing up for PM123, I've been wondering if there was a huge discrepancy (if any) between the FAKO scores and true FICO scores. So I decided go ahead and ordered the FICO Credit Complete ($47.85 one time charge) from myFICO.com. Went through FatWallet for the 10% CashBack and also used the MW01 coupon (which still works!) for 20% off ($38.28 rather than $47.85).
3 point difference for TU, 40 points for EXP, and 35 points for EQ.
Are these variations expected?
I must say that I was impressed with the layout and printed version of myFICO's reports. Very well organized and formatted.

As LFTM stated above, as well as many others, you can expect to see discrepancies, some rather large, between FICO and FAKO scores. This has all been reported before, and it's been discussed that the most useful thing about PM 123 and similar services that report FAKO scores is the credit reports and the tracking of changes to your FAKO scores. One hopes that even if the FICO and FAKO scores are somewhat far apart, changes to them caused by new credit report information would be similar.
So, if you don't mind spending $38 or so a pop, obtain a number of FICO scores in sync with the FAKO scores when you see changes to your credit report and/or FAKO scores, and see if the changes to both sets of scores are relatively equal. If so, you've confirmed the usefulness of changes to your FAKO scores to indirectly monitor changes to your FICO scores.

So I was at a Smiths grocery the other day and noticed a flyer (which I grabbed to investigate)....they're offering 1 month of the "PrivacyGuard" service for $1, but the bonus is that you get a $20 gift card for Smiths just for trying it! The website is www.smithsfoodanddrug.com/finance, has anyone else used/tried this PrivacyGuard service?

Does anyone who has CreditSecure have a way of getting around the 30 day review period? I called them to ask if I could just start paying now and pull my new report right away and they shot me down. I seem to recall other people being able to do that some time ago.
