Dang it. I've gotten this offer twice in the last week. First time I've ever received an offer of 0% for more than 12 months, and I can't pull the trigger. Or so I assume. A month ago I applied for four new cards, including a Chase (giving me two of their cards, each with high utilization). If I was even approved it'd surely be a crappy CL. But maybe I can look forward to more of these type of deals in the future thanks to my recent spree. |

As others have said, the Visa Signature (and presumably the MC World as well) report high balances rather than limits. As others have also said, this can be changed pretty easily. However, it doesn't have to be done with a call to CS - I checked my reports the other day and noticed that my Visa Sig was showing high balance - all it took was a quick email through the account messages tool on their website. Within a day, I had a response from a CSR saying that they'd report the limit to each of the 3 bureaus.

I thought I would share my experience with the Chase Freedom World MasterCard. I applied for the World MasterCard but they sent me the Platinum Mastercard instead. I didn't notice that clause about how you fail to qualify they will send you a platinum so I gave them a call and told them I applied for a World MasterCard but they sent me a Platinum instead. The guy on the phone was very nice and instantly switched my account from Platinum to World and said I would receive a new card in about a week. I then did a search and came by this thread and realized that I probably received the Platinum because I didn't qualify for the World <_<. Well I guess I'll receive a World MasterCard in the mail in a week, hopefully they don't snatch it right back. For all I know if you dispute getting a Platinum instead of the World they are trained to just switch you over without hassle, but for some reason I find that unlikely.
This offer which I received at the end of November seems a little different then the other ones stated here, mine has a 9.99% APR fixed, no BT charge on transfers made when you accept the offer. Afterwards 3% charge on each additional BT (min BT charge $5, max $75), 0% APR till March 1st 2008, and 3% Cash Back (on eligible purchases), min finance charge $1, with offer code SXN. |

Well the number I was given for the offer I recieved (above) is 1-888-684-7370 with offer code SXN. But with that offer only the first balance transfer when you sign up is free. Afterwards it is 3% for balance transfers (min charge $5, max charge $75) |

thx; the website only says 3% BT fee so I'll try calling...has anyone received a new card offer for no annual fee (or 1st year fee waived) card with 0%APR for BTs & NO BT fee? Is there a card (I thought it was Chase) that offeres 2 % rewards for utility bill purchases (did not include phone)?

Well as it turned out I did receive the World MasterCard replacement (same terms), but I guess I will never know if it really was a mistake or if they just change it for anybody who disputes... Well for anybody else who applies for a Chase Freedom World Mastercard and gets sent a Platinum in the mail it is probably best to first assume it is a mistake and give Chase a call to try to get it changed to the World MasterCard you applied for. |

World MC version is worse IMO as it does not report your credit limit while the Platinum does. As Worldmaster have no pre-set spending limit they just report a "Hi Balance" on your credit reports. |

I am kind of new to this, how is reporting a "High Balance" worse then reporting the "actual balance"? Also I have no idea what the no pre-set spending limit is. I have a set credit line and I will get a $39 charge if I go over my limit according to the card member agreement that came with the new card. Did they make a mistake? Can someone please explain this to me?
Edit: I looked at the original offer I got and it looks like it is supposed to have no charge for going over the limit with the World Mastercard, the $39 fee is supposed to be for the Platinum only. I guess I will have to call up Chase again and inquire because the Cardmember Agreement I got with the new World Mastercard doesn't have a "no pre-set limit" and has a overbalance charge... |
