Fist workaround? I admit, it can make you feel better, but can damage your computer.

Damage my computer??? Are you serious? .. how??

If you are trying to pinch me here and there... thanks for the joke.. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

Q2007 is still bugg ridden. Has anyone seen patches or updates?

no patches will work if the original cannot ber installed.

My small business has found it more cost-effective to use Quicken online. You only pay for the features you want, and you can always work from home.

online ANYTHING is not good - what if the networks go down?

online ANYTHING is not good - what if the networks go down?first of all, sorry for being an idiot and posting the same response twice... thought this was a new thread. secondly, we were down all week anyways, because our INTERNAL servers went down... and since several people do the accounting, the software has to be networked. in fact, the internet was up, but our server was down.

to answer the other questions, IIRC the info is stored online with bank-grade protection... not sure if you can backup locally, but I would assume so. also, you authorize all charges, there are no unwitting charges.

finally... it is QUICKBOOKS ONLINE... not Quicken.

I just upgraded to 2006 Deluxe (from 2001 Deluxe) last night. So far so good. I immediately updated it to release 4. The layout and added features are definitely nice to have. The only headache I have right now is trying to make it work with Pocket Quicken 2.0 for my Treo.

I totally regret installing 2007. It is full of bugs, the interface looks horrible (TERRIBLE colors), and it somehow seems slower. When I update my investment accounts, I get an "out of memory" error. The product feels like it's from 1990. Every window flashes while things are being redrawn on screen. I have a 3 Ghz machine with 2GB RAM, by the way.

I also forgot to explicitly back up my Quicken 2006 file. Now I can't go back to 2006 but being behind two weeks...

I am getting that "out of memory" error as well. I really wish they would fix this so I don't have to keep rebooting my pc to get around this. Not sure what is causing this, but it is definetly not a RAM issue since I have no issues with any other apps.

no problems for me on my old machine, and none on my new machine. 2007 premier. The interface is "friendlier" I guess, the speed is about the same.
